We have probably all either played the beta, seen the campaign demo from E3, or saw some sort advertisement. No doubt it will be a big game, but how will it match up to the current powerhouse games such as Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2, and God of War 3, and coming games such as; Gears of War 3, Fable 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Medal Of Honor, and Call of Duty: Black ops?
The only game up there that i think poses ANY competition to it is Black Ops. But, bungie has created such an amazing franchise here, and any game they make with the prefix "Halo" will sell to nearly every single person who bought any of the previous games. So, they will have almost no problem with selling it. Gameplay wise, i doubt that it will do bad because bungie has never released a game that didnt have good gameplay, and a hella awesome campain. So, my response to your question is this; Pretty Damn Good.
^what he said and i personally think that the only thing halo (in general) has in common with other tittles such od COD or GOW is that there fps shooters (besides GOW) its like comparing an apple and a mango, they both come from trees so in conclution, yes i do think reach will live up to its expectations
Look at that. You made a pun out of a game title. It looks like you're ready for the big wide world of video game journalism, get ready, a world of dreams and adventures awaits! Let's go!
Halo is Halo. Halo: Reach, as much as some people would like to think otherwise, is unbearably similar to Halo 3 with some nice toys and new gametypes added to it. If you still enjoy playing Halo 3, Halo: Reach will probably please you. If you've moved on from Halo 3, chances are you were done with Reach before you played it. I know I was.
I know I'm gonna love. For three years just like Halo 3. It's gonna be the best halo yet. And I still thing Bungie has some more goodies up their sleeves
As long as Custom Games has a lot more flexibility with the options, I'll be happy. That's what Halo 3 was missing imo.
Halo is easily gonna be MW2, Black Ops and Gears 3. Forge, Firefight, Campaign, Matchingmaking. I sorry but that has way more replay value than Gears or any of the Call Of Duties. Halo is the Biggest Game of 2010. Come on like 3.4 Billion Players have played Halo 3. So how wouldn't be those titles.
Not saying it's a bad thing, just stating a fact. Halo 3 has more customization than practically every other game on the market.
Though I won't deny that Reach is your typical Halo game I would dispute it being "unbearably similar" to Halo 3. It's similar in the sense that it is a Halo game but both my brother and I haven't played much Halo 3 for quite a while but we both played the Beta and were excited to pick up Halo again. Of course, that's just us. Everyone is gonna feel different. My expectations will definitely be meat. Halo 3 fell short of my expectations because of how much I hyped it up myself and because It was ending a story. Reach, we know how it ends, so I'm just expecting great game play and excellent story telling. Nothing more, nothing less. As for meating the collective's expectations, I'm not quite sure. Based on the feel this time around compared to Halo 3, It will definitely meat expectations. Maybe not exceed expectations, but definitely reach them. I could be totally wrong though. We'll see where everything is as closer to release.
Do I sense an opinion? I sensed an opinion. How do you "meat" something? I would think it involves a *****. On the other hand, you can "meet" expectations, as those expectations can be "met".
What, are you wanting me to call the game bad? Unbearable is simply an adjective, the way I feel about the game. So yes, it was a ****ing opinion. That's why it says "I know I was" at the end of my post. I didn't say, "Reach is unbearably similar to Halo 3, and that's why it will not be able to reach expectations and will be a horrible game." I said, "Reach is unbearably similar to Halo 3. If others like Halo 3, then others will like Reach. If you were done with Halo 3, chances are that you were done with Reach before you even played it. I know I was." So yes, my entire post was an opinion. I never tried to say it wasn't. however, any legitimate opinion is backed up by facts. I was just saying that Reach being very similar to Halo 3 isn't a bad thing for most people, but it is an undeniable fact.
You know there is only 7 or so billion people in the world, right? And around 20 million xbox live profiles.
Halo is the biggest game of 2010? A full 10 years after it came out? Halo: Reach WILL be one of the greatest games this year. Not the greatest maybe. But in the top 3. The re-playability options should be tremendous in it, I mean come on, people are still playing Halo 3 everyday 3 YEARS from launch. Don't ever take something as a definitive.
lolol Halo won't compete with GoW3. By the time it comes out (April) people will be like what they are with MW2 now. "I'm tired of it. Gameplay sucks. So boring. Nothing to do." I doubt anybody has all prestiges, all of the emblems/titles, completed weapons, and all Special Ops at three stars, but they say there's nothing to do. Reach will probably have loads of fun stuff to do but most people will just overlook it. However, I believe Reach is probably the first major title coming out in the Fall (anything before it?), so that would be give would get a jump on the number of people playing it. More people = more chance of addiction. If Bungie doesn't fulfill expectations or patch up the minor problems with Halo 3, people won't be as devoted and will be more likely to eventually move to another game. Those people might not continue to buy the DLC for Reach which is bad for Bungie. D: If CoD Black Ops is a bust then people may come back to Reach. There are also some other pretty major sequels coming up like Fallout New Vegas or AC:B. Those also pose a threat to Reach. Halo Reach will give cast different impressions on everybody; some will love it forever, and others may be distracted by other shiny new games. This is just my take on this scenario. Feel free to comment. I love a good debate.
Yes I think it will reach our expectations but it will not be over the top as Halo 2 or Halo 3. Halo Reach will be the biggest game of the year but not much to GoW3. I think Black Ops is going to be bad because every Call of Duty game could be bought into one another. I think there should be 3 or 4 Call of Duty games out right now because you can combine 2 games together becasue all Call of Duty games is are new maps and new campain. The only way people most likely think it is so good is becasue it is something they have not seen before. From what ive seen I think the campain, custom games, and forge will come over our standards but I dont think matchmaking will and that is the most thing I do in HAlo 3.
I think that Bungie is hard at work with trying to satisfy all types of gamers with Reach. They have given players the ability to customize almost every aspect of the game. As their fifth Halo game, I think that they have gathered enough feedback from their other games to make this game touch perfection.
