Pre-DLC Life's a beach

    Map Title: Life's a beach
    Last resort confined to a modified beach
    Download Map

    Description:
    Basically Last Resort but limited to the beach area and modified to make for a playable map.

    There is a lot of open area for vehicles to drive, also bubble shield and active camo near the water for protection if you want to walk.
    Other wise it would be good idea to stay near The Structure for cover.

    Most of the action will take place in a long thin area along side the structure which would be CQC but you can also shoot down the path for some long range action.

    Unique Beach/Water Map

    Plays all game types except CTF.

    I made this map years ago before I had Xbox live, also this is my first map submission on forge hub or anywhere so please that this into account when reviewing.

    Put some stuff on it! All I can see is that it's simply just a beach with a hog and maybe weapons?? Try to just add some more. May I also suggest some DLC maps, just so you can create overall better maps. Good luck, and if you don't want to use DLC, make sure you spice it up sum moar

    I think he made it to use as a template for others to make their maps.

    Yeah your right, that's meh bad. I read over his desription w/o even thinking. I feel kinda stupid right now. I just noticed the hog and I was thinking that this was meant to be a playable map

    EDIT: But how could this be a template, i just noticed another hog and that OS in the BG. And when he says 'edited to be a suitable map' he may just be saying that to tell us that he made a map on the edited part.

    Its spose to be a playable map not a canvas , it worked alright with 4 on local player , there is weapons and stuff around the map. remember i didn't have Xbox live and was like when halo first came out.

    Yes there is a point i was testing how to post a map , and there is objects placed not just default geography , and in my opinon it is a good map better than a lot of maps Ive seen.

    Ive got a few suggestions to help with your map post. I would say that the description needs to be longer. It has three main purposes;
    1) To entertain people and make them like you more.
    2) To give people a show of the hardship involved in the map, and hopefully get them emotionally attached to it.
    3) Point out all of the things about the map that are unique, or basically describing it in quasi-detail.
    The longer you make this, the higher chance of it doing both. However, unless you are setting a really in depth scene about how the world got attacked and stuff and this is whats left, you probably should keep about a two paragraph max. But, one line is way too short. So try to find the balance.

    Another thing you may want to try is adding a weapons and equipment list. This is because many people will want to know things like this before playing so that they can get a feel for it beforehand. It just gives them one more oppertunity to learn about your map and how it SHOULD feel to play, because weapons actually can make or break a map. It takes knowledge and practice to know what you are doing.

    You might also consider making your game list include everything it does have instead of doesnt have, because that causes it to seem longer and therefore your map seems more versatile, and better.

    Anyway, this map looks really good, but as its been said it is too open. I would suggest adding some more cover around (with intellegence used in placement!! just cus it moves doesnt mean its random!) the open areas to make the vehicles less powerful, and allow cover for those people stuck without long range weapons. Ideally, a map would contain 50% medium range, 30% long range and 20% short range. This is because almost every weapon is a medium range, there are several incredibly powerful long range weapons so its less common but still there, and then there are a TON of poweful short range weapons, so to counteract this you have much less oppertunities to use them. If you want an example look at the pit, or guardian. They both have this perfect balence of the different ranges, which in all honesty should have a huge margian of error based on your weapons layout. If you are heavy on long range weapons increase the average range. If you are heavy on short power weapons decrease it. Its all comes with practice.

    Please dont think im bashing you, you did a great job considering how long ago you made this map. Other than the teleporter thing i couldnt break the level, so its good for its purpose. I wanna see another map from you soon. Or else.
    Jesus man....... dont bash him until you post your own map. Got it? There is no flaming or trolling or any kind of derogitory comments here, especially from people who just joined. And definatly not towards people who just joined. We are a community and we treat everyone here as brothers....... ummm wait thats a bad idea. We are friends and we treat everyone here as friends, because we are all doing the same thing here. What you did is a pretty quick way to get infracted, and eventually banned.

    I would like to say thank you , you rarely find useful posts that actually help.

    What you said about posting maps , i will keep this in mind next time (meaning going back to your post to re-read when necessary) as it was very helpful and informative.

    And my Objective making this map was to limit the level to the beach but it wasn't a good level the way it was so i attempted to make it playable with less modifications as possible but making it a level in itself.(it was a fun level to play local)

    (and i even laughed at myself because i didn't make it playable on CTF but made Territories because i thought that was the most popular game type because i only ever played local)

    I have a lot of original map ideas and a fair few creative half made maps but i get lazy and annoying trying to make them neat so a lot of them don't get made which i feel is a pity because even if there don't turn out good they could still inspire other people to make maps with the techniques that i used.
