Holy crap this game is freakin awesome. I love how you used the addition of the medics implemented in the game in order to create a unique way to play this game.
I think the one thing I didn't like was how the tank could be used as an artilerally gun from the distacne. Gets kind of annoying for the elites though a simple plasma grenade bombardment from the ship should do the trick. Great story writeup and I like the thread's format. I never imagined the map turning out like this when I saw it a few months ago.
I just noticed how strange the OP looked on a 12 inch labtop as oppose to my usual 24 inch monitor, with everything all bunched up. Sorry about that, my bad. It's fixed now with the extra screenshots at the bottom of the post. I also added a new picture of the ship glassing the planet; something I forgot to mention in the post. If you are in forge, set the gametype to VIP and there is a spawn area underneath the ship. It looks like a grav beam or the ship glassing the planet.
OMG this is the best map ever!! I have to say everything looks very neat and well made but my favorite part has to be the Covenant ship. That thing is just so awesome! I am going to have a party of 16 to play this and it will be hectic. And i was so pumped to hear about the release good job 11/10.

The vid is good enough to be a standalone machinima. The story is amazing. The gameplay looks balanced, with it leaning towards the humans near the beginning, but having them get overwhelmed near the end. (like invasion should be) This is going to be the next map I keep just for the rare, nearly impossible occasion in which i get into a large customs lobby. (First was township, second was the first Asset map, now this) Definite dl man. Great job.
Epic. As a big fan of all map types especially anything that leans to bigger teams I love this. I first saw this as an aesthetic map I saw your ship a while back and was impressed. I think you guys did a great job esp with limited resources to make it playable. Wish you had a few more items to beef up weapons. Like some other posts suggested I added a Plasma Cannon for the invaders. Also I couldn't resist but I took the "Go To Point" that you put on the side of one of the buildings, and placed it in the covy ship.... It's for looks only (like a gravity beam dropping covy bad guys). I adjusted the gametype settings so its worth nothing reaching the go to point. We just like the way it looked. Oh yeah almost forgot. The Video is insanely good! Map plays awesome.
dude.... it looks like you tried to advertise within the middle of your post. That is against forgehub rules as you should know by know, and i request that you delete that. Anyway, i really like how this map is just awesome. Overall awesomeness=complete.
Thanks, what did you delete to get the plasma cannon? I also thought of using the go-to point but I didn't think it looked gravity liftesque enough.
i deleted one small piece on the roof of the covy ship. It was the only piece I could find that wouldnt hurt the aesthetic. Odly enough when I tried to del a mongoose to add a weapon it wont let me do it. Even if it was something already on the map like adding a carbine for some reason it gives you the too many objects prompt. I tested and if you remove several items like 5 or 6 it will let you spawn something.
There is a weapon limit as well as an object limit , so you can only place a certain amount of weapons on a map and when you reach the limit it still says "Object limit reached" even if its the weapon limit reached. If the Weapon limit is reached you can still place other non weapon items but not vise versa, You would just have to delete 1 weapon(not 7 non-weapon objects) to place 1 carbine or whatever weapon you wanted placed
Actually, the real reason is is because the objects you are deleting are OLN. Mongooses, battle rifles, carbines, needlers and a dozen other objects are OLN. You don't gain any more objects if you delete those. WWWilliam, every object in forge falls under one category which is just objects. There are no sub categories for weapon limit same goes with other types of objects. If you've hit the object limit, you're done unless you delete something.
This looks awsome, I've downloaded it and I'm gonna play this with my friends as soon as they get live. I like the effects on the screenies and I'm gonna try out some of those effects (if I find an effect I like I try it out e.g. my sig (the foggy one))
Invasion? I have invented a Covenant Grav Lift which can allow a user to return to the Covenant Ship. I do however see some major problems. There is no drop zone for the Covenant. Although there have not been any that I can think of in Halo 3 there do exist in both ODST and HALO 2. Also the covenant would never attack a town unless there is an objective. The fortifications are not substantial enough for there to be adequate. I was planning to make a map similar to this for my INVASION map pack. However, the covenant ship is impressive in the fact that it merges very well at such High altitude. Here is my rating. Halo realism 5.0 Gameplay 7.5 Asthetics 8.5 That averages out to 7. Good Idea, however the map was rushed. Perhaps you could help me with my INVASION Map pack, after all with some modifications (with your permission) we could improve the game play. I have already finished 2 out of 3 the maps I need for the map pack. May I seek your assistance in this matter.
It's not a town; it is a strategically placed UNSC Firebase. Hurr. Seriously, give us some credit. Most of the "town" was built using leftover OLN objects. Also, why does there have to be a lift? I'd rather spend the few objects we had left for buildings or gameplay purposes than a useless drop zone. The map is supposed to be sort of like the story I wrote btw, read it and maybe it'll be answer to your "why is the covenant attacking a town". Phenom and I spent a good 3 months on this. Plus, it was never intended to be playable until last minute.
you say he shouldnt rush the map it took forever just to finsih that amazing ship in the sky and let alone make it a great playable map. Like Rifte said did you even read the extremely long story as to what is happening? This map deservers at least an 8.5 or 9 in my opinion. P.S you cant tell people to ****ing take their time when obviously you dont take the time to even read the story before you post
HOLY SH*T!!! Awesome map and great job on the post! The video was EPIC. It should be made into a movie (maybe)!!! I have played this with many people and everyone LOVES it! Keep up the good work
