Love the 360? Of course you do or you wouldn't be here on forgehub :D
Love halo? Once again, of course
    Love --

Ok even tho the xbox (and ps3, wii, etc) were all awesome creations, if not some what good.
I just hate the fact how all the consoles we buy are $100-$500, but are made each for about half their price and even maybe a quarter.
Im just ticked off about how my xbox mic that came with my elite<3 broke in about 3 months... Never threw it, never dropped it, never ripped it out of the controller, rarely allowed anyone to wear it and if i did i'd put it on their head (no ****, but i hate when stuff breaks bc of some dumb reason)
Even when i first got the thing, when i inserted it into the controller (THATS WAT SHE SAID LULULULZ :p) it made a buzzing sound like a bad light bulb that you'd find in some vacant gas station. Idk if that's normal, but hey im just trying to find some type of help to fix this and even knock some sense into microsoft about their cheap a-- products.
It was working about 6 hours from right now. I leave to go outside and come back about 2 hours later... I can talk to people, but can't hear them. No way can it be the connection to xbl, bc when i plugged and unplugged it in, it didnt even make the buzzing sound.
I've tried many things to fix this (clearing the controller hole of dust, checking the wires were in place and not loose, that golden part that goes in looked normal and unchipped)
Ok so im just wondering if you people got any ghetto ways to fix this problem of mine, bc there is no way im paying $20 for another $1 mic.
BILL GATES I OFFICIALLY HATE YOU, YOU ARE ONE CHEAP MOFO AND IF YOU EVER READ THIS... IM OUT FOR YOU. BTW the zune was a terrible idea (mmmm a $250 brick in my pocket, if i fall surely it wont break!) and red rings just for some extra $$?? Spent a month more on the 360 and maybe you woulda made more in the long run...
    Well, Thnx for reading :D

Nope but they're the cheapest, most people don't want to spend 200$ on a headset but if you have a disposable income, I would ask Insane or Pegasi, some of our resident headset experts. One is an admin and the other is a journalist respectively. Search them.

Ok I have several problems with what you've just said.

First off, Bill Gates no longer works at Microsoft. He left to go do more philanthropic work. Secondly, the Xbox 360 originally was sold for at a loss. I think just recently the Xbox 360 actually crossed the line between loss and profit. I can understand getting mad about the microphone breaking, I've broken more than my fair share, but you've come in here and posted in some eye soar colors and didn't bother to post in decent english. I know this is the internet, but have some class.

Anyway I use a wireless 360 mic and it works fine. Of course I've had 4 of them of the years. I lost the first two and broke the third. On second thought, the wireless microphone may not be your best option.

    Fixed. ^_^

But yeah, you're gonna ***** about pricing? Welcome to the real world, or at least the wonderful world of business and supply and demand, good sir. They supply us with the Xbox's, they demand a price to turn a profit (which Grif even stated didn't happen until recently). And two, my headset that came with my console hasn't failed me yet, but I went and bought a Turtle Beach x41 anyways because they kick ass.

I totally agree with you, because, in an ideal world, you would be able to get these things for cheap.

This is not an ideal world.

You have to accept reality. And besides, Bill Gates is definitely not the target you should be flaming at. In fact, flame at the world society. Because that is what is responsible for the prices you have to pay. Or if that is too large a target then at the company, not the leader. The leader of a company (even though he no longer leads it) is not entirely responsible for its doings.

tl;dr Suck it up, this is reality we're talking about.

Don't pull numbers out of your ass. A simple Google search got me all of the facts I needed.

What did you expect? You can't have your cake and eat it too. The 360 costs over $700 to produce each unit. Your HP printer doesn't cost just $90. Your cell phone wasn't given to you for free by your network.
It's no secret that video game consoles are sold at a loss. Where Microsoft and other game console makers get revenue from is by charging licensing fees to the developers to create games for the system. That's why games cost $60. Please, learn razor blade economics before complaining so much.

@Noklu: No, he shouldn't be angry at anyone. It's not the rest of the world's fault that his Xbox 360 mic costs more money than he can afford/wants to pay. Maybe he should learn capitalism, or at least that other people exist and also want things.

DO NOT COMPLAIN. I have spent endless amounts of money over the past 2 years on microphones. I have blown through at LEAST 20 mics in 2 years. Only ONE is broken, all the others are: Can't talk, can't hear, volume level won't change, or I can't talk or hear.

    Yeah, 20 mics x $15 (averaged for used and new) = $300

Right now I ordered like 10 off the internet for like $40 =/
