Alot of people keep thier starters until they beat the elite four, because they tend to find better pokemon then. Besides, with the exeption of infernape and blazican (just in my openion) none of the starters are that great. EV training is just battling certian pokemon to max out your stats. V,i would take you up on that shiney adament arceus, but my friend spent the night, and hijacked it while I was sleeping, leaving me his Lv 80 raquaza. (He must have thought that was fair)
I think, along with the two you mentioned, Swampert and Torterra are also great. (Especially torterra).
Just got an update on the statues of my suicune,as it turns out my friend wanted to "suprise" me. (I dont believe him) So he he secretly used it to barter for his friends (hacked, and I know it is) shiny shaymin,to give to me. The worst part is,he refuses to give it to me till I'm not "angry" at him. Damn him.
Idea, CnC this: Blissey: Serene Grace EV trained for speed and HP Razor Claw Rest Snore Egg Bomb Uproar Fire blast ??? (maybe sing, maybe zen headbutt, maybe counter) Rest restores all 700+ of there health, snore can be used while asleep giving a 65%+ chance of the enemy flinching and does 60 damage; egg bomb does 150 The sp. attack on blissey is 7.5x higher than its attack, im going with uproar which is 50 base power that is a 2-5 turn move, ugh... maybe fire blast? Technical **** in the spoiler that randle should add to the OP. Spoiler DAMAGE FORMULA In order to get the amount of damage you're pokemon's gonna do, theres a huge formula that i'll show you how to do. Because pokemon r srs bsns Lets say my cheap son-of-a-***** blissey uses egg bomb and is level 100 and i trained its attack perfectly. You do 2 times its level plus 10. I get 210. Times this by the attack stat at work (sp. attack if special attacking move, attack if a physical move) Since im super boss at training it and it's Attack stat is the max (130) i do 220*130(its attack stat)*100(base damage of egg bomb) and get 2860000 Next divide it by 250 time the respective defense stat at work Lets say im attacking a Pikachu with 140 defense, i do 250*140(its defense, not sp. defense since the attackers move is physical) I get 35000. Divide them and get 81.714285714285714285714285714286. Next step you will definitely need a calculator for. Add 2, get 83.714285714285714285714285714286. Times that by 1.5 if the move is the same type as your pokemon. if not disregard it (in this case i do mulitply it), i get 125.57142857142857142857142857143. then you multiply the modifier, if its super effective then time it by 2, if its super effective in two ways (like a fire attack on a snovert (grass and ice(both of which fire is super effective against))). Mine isnt, so that segment is 1. Here is the tricky part (if this wasnt tricky enough), the game chooses a number between 0.85 and 1 and multiplies it by that. I end up doing between 106.73571428571428571428571428572 at minimum and 125.57142857142857142857142857143 at maximum damage. Thoughts?
Blissy without Softboiled? Nevermind, I forgot rest. Also, you don't really need to train its HP, train its Defence.
Just out of curiosity, is this supposed to be a tank Blissey or a wall/staller? I have no idea why you'd wanna run a tank Blissey because its offensive capabilities are just **** to none even with EV help. Also you don't wanna drop a lot of Evs in speed. Your main focus should be HP and Defense. Now most of you are gonna wonder why I said Defense and not Sp. Defense. With good IVs, Blissey's Sp. Defense will still reach above 300 without a single EV. Putting the max EVs in HP and Defense and dropping the last four in Sp. Defense will essentially double Blissey's rather lacking resistance to physical attacks. Also, you don't want Serene Grace, you NEED Natural Cure. This is moreso due to the set I'm about to show you. So on to the moveset: Blissey @ Leftovers Natural Cure Bold Nature (+Def / -Atk) EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 Sp. Def Softboiled Seismic Toss Toxic / Sing / Thunder Wave Wish / Aromatherapy Softboiled is simply the staple for Blissey movesets; its much more efficient than Rest/Snore in terms of healing you and not leaving you defenseless. Seismic Toss is simply to damage all non ghosts for the same amount of damage irregardless of their defenses and your lack of offense. Flamethrower and Ice Beam are viable options if you feel you must switch out Seismic Toss but Seismic Toss will be the better option more often than not. For Toxic / Sing / T-Wave that comes down to preference. Now for Wish / Aromatherapy it comes down to the type of support you want your Blissey to accomplish. With Natural Cure and Softboiled, Blissey can switch in and out way too often without being crippled by statuses and lack of HP. This makes her a solid Wish-passer and Aromatherapist. So it pretty much comes down to do you need someone to recover HP for your pokemon or get rid of their status ailments? Whichever you choose is the move you should keep. This is the best Blissey set I can think of.
Halo kid's team of average pokemon that proved that the third generation didnt suck Yes,its a mouthfull, but I need help. I want to find some average pokemon from R/S/E that dont suck. I dont want any ledgendary's,starters (mainly because I hate swampert with a passion.),or metagross and salamence. Please, dont think about competitive battling,so forget smogon university. So far i have: Absol Gardevoir Masquerain (just believe me,these are the best flying bug ever) Ummmm......suggestions?
Absol, Gardevoir, Masquerain (eh.......), Breloom, Aggron, Flygon, Ludicolo, Shiftry, Ninjask, Shedinja, Cacturne, Slaking, Hariyama, Sharpedo (to a lesser extent), Grumpig, Altaria, Milotic, Crawdaunt, Claydol, Armaldo, and Dusclops all are your best bets then. P.S. The best Flying-Bug is Yanmega. Hands down. Or Ninjask. The ability to Baton Pass that much speed to ANYTHING is just ridiculous.
Breloom is always great, because it's just cool. Strategy-wise, I have no idea. Ludicolo can use rain dish & ingrain & leftovers & giga drain to basically give itself infinate health. That, and it's obviously the most mexican pokemon ever, so it deserves a spot on the team for that alone. Altaria is amazing. I've never parted with mine. Again, not a strategy here. Sorry. I like Cradily, even though the Rock/Grass combination is a bit suckish. But I think you could probably put a Dusclops into the fray, since I think they have lovely defence.
For Breloom make sure you have spore and focus punch on it. Make sure you keep it a Shroomish until it learns Spore because Breloom can't learn it.
You need substitute with the focus punch. First turn spore, or substitute if you think they aren't attacking. Next turn either spore if you used substitute or substitute if you used spore. That way, you have a dummy and they are asleep so now you set up your focus punch or seed bomb the crap out of them. If they wake up, the substitute will take the hit so you won't lose focus.
Usually I just rely on the fact that focus punch will 2HKO just about everything that doesn't resist it, and hope it doesn't wake up in two turns, and I use Stone Edge for coverage against flying types.
Focus Punch OHKOs anything that isn't resisted to it if you are doing normal battle tower at level 50 and have EV trained it well enough. The only time it took two hits was when someone resisted it. The problem I always ran into was ninjask with aerial ace which was always faster then my breloom and would one hit it. My new team is Gyarados not sure what item to give it EV: Max attack, max speed, 4 in HP Intimidate, IV doesn't do anything Dragon Dance Earthquake Waterfall Stone Edge Dragonite not sure what item to give it EV: max attack, max speed, 4 in HP Inner Focus, IV doesn't do anything Dragon Claw Earthquake (may sub this for thunderwave, not sure) Dragon Dance Roost Togekiss holds something that causes flinching EV: max HP, Max speed, 4 in attack Serene Grace, IV doesn't do anyting air slash roost aura sphere thunderwave Now the main problem with my team is weakness to electric and weakniss to rock. I am thinking of switching togekiss for something but I'm not sure what because it doesn't really fit with the other two too well. Any thoughts on what I should change or if I should switch up some of these moves?
I probably wouldnt be so defensive if it wasnt for the fact I beat the elite four (which then sucked) with a level 100 masquerain. I even remember his moveset: -Blizzard -hyper beam -silver wind -stun spore Not great by todays standerds, but with a max ether or two (which were easy to come by with my tactic) I could get all the way through the elite four.
Hmm...I really think you should take out Gyarados for Swampert as a lead. And maybe replace Dragonite or Togekiss with Lucario for a solid physical threat. Bulky Swampert is a great defensive lead and lets you set up Stealth Rock and, with the ability to use Roar, lets you scout and accumulate SR damage. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Movesets! Go! Swampert @ Leftovers Torrent Relaxed Nature EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Stealth Rock Earthquake Surf / Ice Beam / Stone Edge Roar Stealth Rock: As a lead, you always want to have Stealth Rock support if possible. Earthquake: It's Earthquake. It's STAB. It's Earthquake AND STAB AND Swampert's dominant offense is physical attack. Enough said. Surf / Ice Beam / Stone Edge: Depends on what you want here. You could go for a standard MixPert lead with Ice Beam, go for more STAB with Surf, OR go for the physical powerhouse with Stone Edge. Whatever floats your boat. Roar: Scout. Accumulate SR damage. Repeat. AND ON TO THE LUCARIO! Lucario @ Life Orb Inner Focus Adamant or Jolly Nature (depends on if you want more physical power or speed) EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd Swords Dance Extremespeed Close Combat Crunch / Stone Edge Standard SD Lucario set but I'll explain anyways because I'm awesome and its what I do. ^_^ Swords Dance: Take Lucario's already sky high attack and raise it even higher. Extremespeed: One of the most powerful priority moves AND its upped by SD. Close Combat: Take a ridiculously powerful STAB attack and add SD boost. This can KO a defensive Kyogre after Stealth Rock support. Epic - Win. Crunch / Stone Edge: Leave it to preference or what you need in terms of type coverage. Take what you need. Those two compliment Togekiss and Dragonite pretty well depending on which one you decide to keep.
