It's not about the hit boxes, it's about the fact that it's more noticeable than other helmets. At least the EVA was, anyway.
It makes no difference. If they see you, they see you. Theres no camouflage or cover that doesn't completely block vision anyways. It's one of those things that makes such a small difference that it's not even worth considering.
Sigh. It draws attention. If you see three people in your field of vision, you're most likely going to snap to the one that draws the most attention. Do I need to bust out the diagrams?
Basically RST is saying people are all squirrels and prefer the shiny and the high contrast objects. People look at multicolored faster than they look at monocolored
In Halo 3 I always sniped Katana, then EOD, then hyabusa, assuming they have the same weapons of course. There are some people who do much more thinking than headshotting. In modern warfare, I always kill the greatest threat first, usually snipers. Halo armors are just a nice way to make determining the greatest threat easier.
I don't use armor, so make sure you hit me first. I'm obviously the greatest threat if I am so good that I can Rambo it.
hoorah mark VI! best armor in halo 3, probably best in reach. this is not very efficient or effective. you cannot pick out a greater threat based upon armor. you could get all the armor perms in halo 3 without having much skill. analyzing who is the biggest threat based on armor is a waste of time, time you could have used to do something productive such as killing more of their dudez. also not very good in CoD, unless youre playing like a hardcore competitive game with teammates you regularly play with against teams that play together. in regular matchmaking, theres no need. the halo helmet thing is somewhat true. the eye sees and recognizes bright, contrasting colors first. but if somewhat sees you, it doesnt really matter. only if he can possibly see many of your teammates, then he might target the brighter helmet first.
The recent screenshots on my Reach stats doesn't work! I took about 8 hoping to submit one to Screenshot of the Week 17 and only 3 shots appeared. WTF?
The armour hitbox arguement does hold weight in my opinion. Not only do different armour types attract aweraness and reactions in different ways, but these reactions can be then decieving to the sniper, if the armours are different sizes but the hitboxes remain the same.
Lag has a larger affect than this could ever have, and the shields are projected slightly outside the player and probably stay the same size with new armor. The same thing happened to me in Halo 3. I think it just takes a while to upload the screenshots. Aiming for the better armor is not just about hitting the hayabusa guy first; first you check in the pregame lobby to see what armor the level 50 guy has.
I always snipe the biggest threat first. There is no armor preference. I don't often snipe though as my sensitivity is so damn high.
Just noticed the beta playlist updated. -Spartan vs Elites Slayer in Grab Bag -Spartan DMR loadout removed from Invasion Phase 1 -CTF Flag return proximity increased -Headhunter skull pickup increased -No more team stockpile same team flag removing and rescoring All very good changes
Agreed, those all sound good. It's nice to see Bungie testing updates based on feedback within the beta itself. I honestly didn't know how much change we'd see within the beta, rather that single lessons would be learned and implemented in the final release. It's a nice gesture towards an obvious point of comparison for the Reach beta right now: the SC2 beta. Obviously they're different games and the betas serve different purposes, SC2 started out as a beta but it's basically ended up turning in to an ongoing series of release candidates. But I really envy them for that kind of beta experience, and it's nice to see the Reach beta incorporating change as well as just feedback. I wonder if we'll see the nade fixes come in before the beta closes, that'd make me very happy. Though that does sound a little more difficult to implement on the fly than the above changes, and also like something that'll take a lot longer to resolve than deciding on an increase of flag return radius, for example.
Wow great changes... I would really like to see a smaller needler clip or a longer reload time... a guy got me with two needles before my lockdown took effect, and after unloading he had time to reload before my lockdown ran out and unload again.
I finally tried holding down the trigger with the needle rifle. It feels very inconsistent and I feels like I can fire faster just by mashing the trigger.
Will Reach be availble to silver members at any point? My gold ran out and I don't wanna use up a 2 day.....
I'm fairly certain it's available to Silver members when Network Test 1 is available. But don't take my word on that.
