So, I was playing Invasion for the first time the other day, and after winning, I decided to go into Theatre to explore the map. After looking around a bit, I decided to watch the UNSC Longswords blow up the enemy Phantom. I watched it blow up in slow motion, and noticed two familiar objects fall out. Take a look. Although they look the same as in Halo 3 (maybe a little bit cooler and more detailed), it's fairly obvious that these are Covenant Plasma Cannons. Anyway, just thought I would share that with you guys. Bye.
Yeah, they drop off of the Phantoms after the game ends. I'm not sure if its intentional but its pretty cool.
Just because there are plasma cannons in a vehicle we cannot drive, in the beta, does not mean they will be in the full game. But I see no reason Bungie would leave the covenant without any type of turret. Just wondering, why do we need a new thread for this?
Beacuse no one has found this before, and what would the point be of even making highly detailed Plasma Cannons if you can't even use them? Besides, you can't see them on the Phantom, they fall out after it blows up.
There is a phantom floating near the spartans vehicle depot. if you shoot the side of it with a rocket lawn chair, a usable plasma cannon falls out.
Yeah I wasn't sure if it was possible to destroy the turret before the end of the game, I knew the phantom floated round during the whole game, above the map but I didn't realise that if you shot the side it would drop down. Epic screen shot confusion time?
Why not look more carefully? Watch the sky when you first spawn, it starts there, then moves over towards where he describes when you get past the first area.
I don't have pics, but here is a link to a film with someone getting and using a Plasma Cannon. It's not me, though. Watch it for some awesomesauce! YouTube- How to get the Plasma Cannon in the Halo: Reach Beta
Definitely doing that as soon as I can get back on my xbox. Plasma cannon will probably be nice and powerful. You might want to mention this to people who have the weapon lists posted on Forge Hub so they can add this. Bungie would not put in a usable weapon if we were never going to use it.
