Been taking the reach beta survey and I noticed an image of the fileshare on the website, in which gametypes (couldn't see a map, just a presumption) had a custom image. On second thoughts it just looks like videos, but still custom images.
Those are screenshots. Look at the tab they're under. one says screenshots the other says films. also, rendered vids in H3 have their own "custom image". Look at the bottom left file
You mean like on Far Cry? Where you were able to take a picture of a certain part of your map and it would be the display pic for that map.
Fix'd. Just because I cant understand in-cohesive and unintelligible writing doesn't mean I'm dumb. Also, When screenshots are taken, and the taker doesn't choose to change the name, it reverts to whatever the name of the gametype is.
My in-cohesive unintelligible writing was readable by others in this thread. Okay understood, but it's still possible I don't think this feature was available in halo 3 so it's always possible.
I wouldn't consider it a feature. The game just names a screenshot whatever the name of the gametype is, in which the film occurred. Unless a person changes the name when taking the shot, it always does this. It does this for H3, ODST and the beta.
Those are screenshots named ODDBALL, in a fileshare. They're not gametypes. Proof, my Reach fileshare. Pics were taken in Slayer.
:/ Okay, what I am suggesting is that the image in OP and black theorems could be a feature for reach in which you can create a custom image for your maps/gametypes. Yes I realise these are videos of gametypes now, but the idea is still possible.
You mean suggest the idea or ask peoples opinions if it already in the game? If it was the first of the latter then I might as well.
Meta.. Black.. I love you guys, but it can't be explained any better. I'm not the smartest kid and I understand the point he was getting acrossed. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
In H3 you have to take a screenshot and link it to your map in a file set if you wanted people to see part of your map without downloading it. I was going to argue that a problem with that would be 'profane' images as map pictures, but you can sort of do that already. One thing that'd have to change would be people loading the map image as opposed to having all the canvas images 'loaded' already like in H3. No biggie in my opinion.
