I assume they would only be usable once. I'm hoping my internet stays in it's fast mode it recently went back to. Cause if it goes back to being slow, I doubt I'll be playing the Beta.
Lights is having opposite day lol. Powerhouse is actually quite an awful objective map. However it plays nice for slayer (agree on dmr loadout though). Sword base is ****in sex.
Duh! Roche uses the first 6 digits of the code, Pegasi uses the last 6. What are you, some kind of idiot?
They used that Microsoft ExpertZone thing... Come now Ivory... Basically the only way the rest of you can still get one is through a contest. Just follow the names Lights gave in the other thread on twitter for your best chances to win. Dont like twitter? Its just a few more grueling days to squeeze through. Sucks, I know, but it isnt too much longer.
Isn't it pointless to delay the Beta any longer though? They'd have more time to analyse the response to the Beta and fix potential flaws if they'd release it at the same time for everyone. It's like they're treating the Beta more as a marketing tool to generate hype (and I hate marketing). What do you think?
Dude I've been sick at home with glandular fever/tonsilitis (not diagnosed completely yet) for the last few days so i've been chasing down every possible contest, but i can't win the majority of them due to slow internet connection (which basically rules out every twitter contest) so it does look like i will be waiting...
From my experience, there's two types of contests. The main one, with people actually tweeting the codes out loud (or parts of it...), and the random follower and retweeter contests. I won a code from simply following a dude.
Yeah but i've noticed that many more codes seem to be being handed out via the first method, which is annoying when you're at a disadvantage due to internet connections. Normally I wouldn't care so much, but it looks like i'm going to be stuck in bed for the entire weekend so it'd be nice to have some form of entertainment, and this just happens to be my preferred one.
I got my code through a bungie employee (I think his bio says he's from Seattle and is a game developer) so I didn't cheeze the system to get mine early. Though it's kinda annoying have all these random people in it. Makes it far less friendly.
Agreed. I don't play MW2 but I've heard and seen bad things. Though hopefully Bungie won't be the ***** like IW was, and support etc won't suffer at the hands of activision. On topic: for me the DMR is sex in a can. Reach feels weird (as it should, I'm quite happy to spend time getting used to it) but the DMR felt like home, same with the Sniper though I've only gotten it once or twice. Not that they're not different and new, especially the DMR, but I got that warm happy feeling as soon as I picked it up, and it just grew and grew from the moment I started firing bullets. I'm already starting to find my game feet and adapt my movement and playstyle when I pick a DMR up, it feels really great. Needler rifle is lotsa fun, definitely my second favourite utility weapon to the DMR. I'm not totally sold on the Pistol, though I get the feeling I just need to learn how to use it. AR is fine, not really my thing but it seems to work about right, I've gotten a decent amount of kills out of it and it felt pretty good. Nice balance of how it depletes health, should make burst-beatdowns spams a thing of the past which I'm happy about. On the subject of beatdowns, they're something I'm gonna have to get used to. It's not the balance per se, just feels odd. I reckon it'll be fine once I get to an instinctive level with the shield/health/damage mechanic, then I'll know the results of my actions before and as I execute them and be able to adjust following actions accordingly. I've heard others say that nades are really powerful, I'd agree at this point tbh. Nade slamming, especially in a 2 on 1 situation, feels like a little too much tbh. Rockets own, they seem to travel faster and kill EVERYTHING. I'm reluctant to label them overpowered because I enjoy them so damn much. This is all pretty based around what I like and how I play, and I'm obviously still very much in the process of finding me feet and starting to form opinions, so take from it what you will.
