They will continue it. It would be unwise not to have at least a month of the game, as they are well aware that many people were enticed to buy ODST for the beta. Furthermore, just because something works early on, consistently, doesnt mean someone wont find a way to break it down the line. I think they'll want as much data as they can possibly get.
All this still doesn't negate the fact that Microsoft said the beta only lasts 16 days. EDIT: Actually, 17 days.
