They've definitely shown a clip of a sword being used right out of sprint. With so much footage I can't be bothered to find it anymore, but I believe it was before the NDA lifted. And didn't Urk say at some point how fun it was to sprint and beat someone down, which sends them flying backward a bit?
Not right out of sprint it takes a second. Remember how you could lunge as soon ad you hit Y in halo 2, even though the sword wasnt out? Yeah it won't be that.
yes. I can't remember if the guy used the sword, but I do remember he was sprinting with it. I also remember something about "how much fun it was to sprint and melee/jump". I know you can't shoot while sprinting, but maybe you can hit harder while sprinting? Kind of like how a grenade hitting you does damage? YouTube - Halo: Reach - Extended "The Birth of A Spartan" TV Commercial (HD 720p) Extended version. was better than the shorter version but I kind of wish there was more action
Tbh, I've never really noticed not being able to shoot, aim and jump all at the same time while using default in H3 before and I seem to remember doing it many times, but now I think about it, I suppose it isn't really possible to do with ease. I did try using bumper jumper once or twice when i noticed how much of a big deal everyone made about it, but i couldnt get the hang of it and i found it made more sense using default.. But anyway, this is what I would use if I could: RT - Shoot (obviously) LT - Grenade RB - Reload/Action LB - Jump L3 (Click) - AA R3 (Click) - Zoom A - Switch Grenades B - Melee X - Crouch Y - Switch Weapons In this, the only things that have changed from H3 Default, is Equipment/AA has swapped with crouch and Jump and Switch Grenades have swapped, due to the how everyone seems to be making a big deal about jump not being on bumpers apart from with bumper jumper where AA is in a bad place. I would like to keep reload on bumpers, just because I'm use to it that way and I think it works well, but it would have to be RIGHT bumper because its annoying to press right trigger + right bumper at the same time. (This is why swapping jump and melee on Reach default would not be suitable; Lets face it, you're never going to get both AA and jump on the bumpers if you want it to work well). This is what I would like but I doubt Bungie will put AA on the trigger, even though it would clearly work the best. Edit: I just realised what I said is rather similar to Recon, as that is similar to Halo 3 Default. I think I wil be using Recon in the BETA and I will probably try the Reach Default too. I may try Bumper Jumper too just to see if it is really that bad having the AA on the face, which I presume it is. Edit 2: Now I think about it, I think this controller setup would only really work if you had chosen click-crouch, instead of hold-crouch, because it's in a bit of an awkward position and you wouldn't be able to turn while crouching. Alternatively you could have crouch on right bumper and reload/action on X. Also it would be uber cool and helpful if you could toggle on/off click to use/disuse AA or hold to use AA, but may be a bit complicated when using jet-pack. Edit 3 (cos im sad): On the original control scheme i suggested, it might work better if I swapped round the crouch and switch grenades (so X is switch grenades, and A is crouch). I'm not sure though tbh.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure a lot of Bungie employees switched to BJ from Default over time with Halo 3, putting a bit much on a name imo. There is also a reason that Default isn't the only layout.
Old news is old. I honestly hope they have the locust in this game, It would be so insane driving that from 3rd person.
That's fine, but you probably shouldn't expect a thread full of people who do not to know about stuff like that
I don't think so, but I'd like one. Bnet petition gogogo. (Preferably by the person with the biggest reputation across Bnet)
That extended version of birth of a spartan still is bad. The guy looks no buff-er after the medical, drill things than before. WTF? He looks like some wimpy 16 year old. Ok im probably being too harsh but if a professional gaming company cant make a good trailer then they need to seriously boost their standards.
Ever read Ghosts of Onyx? The Spartan III's were all teenagers/kids, and the book took place during the events of before and after Halo CE. Therein lies your answer.
