I haven't personally tried it but I do know it works. It's sorta hard though cause for it to work you need to random encounter a shiny in your game to get your SID. Or use an AR, but thats no fun imo.... though I guess I wouldnt mind using one JUST to get my SID, but not really...

Anyway, my shiny Electabuzz is so win. I cant wait to have a shiny Electivire, they're even cooler looking!!!

Cool story bro. What is chaining? Does it have something to do with the Poke Radar?
I also have that item to make electabuzz an electrivire. You can has if you want.

If I ever can get my WFC to work, I'm pretty sure I have one.
How do you set up the WFC? My DS confirms the connection to the internet from my router, but whenever I go into the Pal Pad in the game, it says to go configure the settings. Is there anything I have to buy to get it to work?

Pokemon chaining is when you carry out a chain on the Poke Radar. The more you battle the same Pokemon the chances of getting a shiny pokemon increases up until the 40th chain where it levels out.
I'm currently leveling up my Pineco so it will evolve into a Forretress and I can trade it for a Beldum, which I plan on evolving. Although I'm unsure of whether I'll keep it in my party or not.

Pigglez seems to be getting lucky. I'll have to try out this chaining thing.

Does anyone want to try the RNG abuse to get shinies thing? its not cheating really IMO
You need to download something but ill link it if anyones intrested

Basicly what it supposedly does is change the Pseudo-Random Number Generator to make the number it gives out match the one needed for a shiny.

Latios is a *****. I have it down to a minuscule amount of health and I cannot catch it. I have a Haunter with a higher speed than it so I can use Mean Look on it every time I encounter it. I need to train my Dragonair to have a higher speed than it so I can use Thunder Wave and paralyze it. Then I can keep going after it and trying to catch it.

The only problem with that it my Haunter is level 45 and sometimes dies in one hit from Luster Purge, especially if it uses it once and lowers my Sp. Def.

I keep flying repeatedly to Saffron hoping it will be on one of the four tiny routes around Saffron.

A good way to encounter it is to walk in and out of a city to a route until you see the pokemon on the route you are on, so yeah you'll have to keep checking your map, but you'll find the roaming ones much easier.

    I'll have to try that.
Do you know any good ways to catch Entei or Raikou? I'll use Mean Look on them, but they both know Roar and use it a couple turns later.

I too am having trouble with Entei and Raikou. I've got both of them on 1HP, Entei is asleep while Raikou is paralyzed and I still can't catch them. They always use roar on like the third turn.

On another topic I've decided to try chaining for a Pokemon on my diamond. I really wanna get a shiny Buizel, which I will trade over to my HG and level up as part of my team. So far though no luck. But then again, I'll be happy if I actually manage to get a Shiny Pokemon.

Oh good god... this has been an epic week for me. Following my shiny electabuzz and ralts, I went back to SRing for Mewtwo, and what do you know it? On my way home from seeing the Losers with my Grandma, I look down and I see that green tailed genetic experiement scroll across the screen. I ****ing skipped a heartbeat. Epic ****.

I just whipped this up. It tells you how to get Gym Leaders' PokeGear numbers, where/when to find them, and when you can battle them again. The rematch is always at the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City, and the Gym Leaders always have much harder Pokemon than when you first fought them. Fighting them is really good training.

Randle, could you add this to the first post or something?

I find that its not important... but if I had to guess... an inhuman amount of hours. In total, I think I did over 6500 SRs for Mewtwo. For the two chained shinies, each chain was probably about 30 minutes only cause I was watching TV while I did it. The shiny Rayquaza I have took a good amount of SRs too.

Shiny hunting takes a LOT of patience.

That's awesome, I put it under the resources section, I think that would be the best place.

Also thank you for making that, it's pretty sick, I don't use gym trainers as a training option mostly because I didn't know which days to call them and to be honest was too lazy to look it up lol.

I'm pretty sure SRing is when you save before the legendary pokemon, Mewtwo for example, and you keep resetting the save until that legendary is shiny.
Thanks for that chart Ace. That'll save me from having to look up on Serebii.net everytime I need to know the times and places of Gym Leaders.
