And girly helmet. Just imagine he's a scout or something and then the femanine thing goes straight away.
By the way, don't get your hopes up for May 3d being in the morning. Halo 3 beta was released almost 2 days after it was meant to, Modern warfare 2 was updated to allow the new maps 5 hours after the map pack was released, and the XBL originals weren't cancelled until late the day after. The XBL service is terrible at releasing things consumers want on time, despite the ridiculous amount of money we pay to use live.
Just read the new Bungie update. Few things to think about; Theres an Elite vs Elite slayer gametype, and with the presence of Invasion and Generator Defence, should we expect to be able to customize our characters looks? Or is it dependant entirely upon the class we choose? Some gametypes are class-less, so what would we look like then? If we can customize our character, will we have a Spartan and Elite fascade? 'Flag Juggling' has been axed. Flag carrier traits (50% speed) carries on shortly after dropping the flag, but will they make sure it lasts long enough? Perhaps they'l do a schoolboy error and make it only last 1-2 seconds, allowing you to jump and throw repeatedly? That would make me giggle. And you can't use armour abilities and objectives at the same time Will this work fo territories + hill? Armour lock + territories? Boooolshittttt.
Shishka confirmed on the MLG forums that that is editable in custom games. You can set the flag carrier traits cooldown to instant.
Just to piss someone off I'd make the 50% speed last for a minute after they drop the flag. Spartan's get tired too, you know. xD
Random thing I noticed about the giant covenant plasma cannon thing (I forgot what it's called if you did not notice). It appears to impact where the user is aiming after firing, not when firing. I am quite sure this is not just vehicle lock on because I also noticed the effect in another video showing someone attacking another player. Could it have a guidance system to follow the user's aim?
How do ya'll think generator defense will compare to other point assault gametypes like BFBC2's rush?
What confuses me is why is Generator Defense such an important network test yet it's only 3v3. What could be so strenuous about it?
They had some random spawning to it, and I suspect the use of AI, seeing that Halo can support 4 players, and AI, They might need to test 6 players and AI.
Generator defense will probably be like demolition from Modern Warfare 2, more than squad rush from battlefield. AI? In matchmaking? I am confused about what you are saying here.
Bungie podcast is up. Three guests: the multiplayer design lead; the UI designer; and the network engineer. On the multiplayer side we heard more about invasion. They Explained the waypoints in invasion slayer and that they pertain to better loadouts or vehicles if you hold them long enough. There were also some nice little details about the objective points and flag dropping, and that we will be able to customize their role in custom games (i.e. you can change it so you will be able to use AA with objective points) UI guy went a little bit more into the details of active roster. He also commented on being able to remain in a party and navigate the main menu. Some of the more exciting news came along with the network director. He explained some of the improvements made to networking. For instance in selecting hosts. The game now remembers how good of a host you were how many times. This impacts your chances of becoming host. It can also detect, based on your IP address, your general location, and team you up with other players in that area to limit latency. It learns! The system detects changes in the amount of latency from one region to another, and it can adapt to those changes for the best possible connection. Its good to hear about the positive changes made behind the scenes that may not be relevant while executing someone into the ground with your little energy dagger! Obviously know what I was most excited to hear about. What did you guys get out of it??
I'm sure that Bungie will add in bumper jumper, well at least I hope so, I've played halo 3 with bumper jumper for 1 and a half year(s?).
