    Footprints on The Sand

Overall: Footprints on The Sand is a mini-game. Basically Humans spawn along the back wall and get to there comfortable location, usually the hill. Zombies spawn after about 10-20 sec. and drop down through the tubes located along the top area of each back wall. Zombies are 100% invisible. They carry swords, and will slash for you. Your job is to be looking around the sand to spot any zombies who are trying to be sneaky beavers.

Humans: Basically humans are normal. They die as fast as normal, because they only die to swords. SMG and Magnum starts. No shield recharge, so don't blow yourself up, because this is more realistic. You get hurt, you stay hurt. Humans also shoot out 110% Damage, so the zombies die a slight bit faster. (It does make a difference.) No infinate ammo, but weapon pickup is available. Humans move at regular speeds, with regular gravity. Finally, no waypoints are issued, so you'd better know who from who. (It should be quite obvious anyway.) Last Man speeds up to 110% with a waypoint for everyone.

Zombies: Damage resistance is at 50% with normal shields, and no recharge for you either. Weapon of Zombie's choice? Sword. No weapon pickup. You move at 90% of normal, with gravity of 200%. Its not that bad. :) No motion sensors, your brown, and have no waypoint.

    Scoring:

    Zombie Kill Points: 1
    Infection Points: 1
    Last Man Standing Bonus: 1
    Suicide: 0
    Betrayal: 0

Well there you have it, now DL and tell me what you think.

Wait did you just NOW get around to posting this? I guess I'm not one to talk about taking forever to post maps but I played this game forEVER ago.

It truly is a nice change of pace from most other games i end up playing. I spend most of the time blankly looking in all directions while we all huddle on the hill for security, then i occasionally shoot or toss flame grenades to make myself seem usefull. Since it's released i can finally put it on my hard drive and play it until the groups can't stand it anymore.

Good work bro, Great map, nuff said.

Ancient map is ancient : P

I always personally find most games to play the same. A couple idiots try to spawn kill, instantly get destroyed while everyone else huddles in the high corner. After a while, someone decides to play the hero, runs out of safety and gets killed. At this point, there are already enough zombies to overwhelm the smarter humans with ease.

Still however, the idea behind it is there and this is something I don't mind playing every once in a while so good job, Given.

I've always liked the idea of watching where Zombie foot prints are. Great to see the idea popped out, the map looks beautiful, and the Zombie Spawn looks great. I'll give it a try with a couple of friends, looks like a fun mini game.

Wow, talk about originality (no sarcasm). I'm surprised no one ever thought of this footprints idea before, it's brilliant.

Anyway, on the map, BEAUTIFULLY forged. The walls are perfectly interlocked and I like the way they are straight while the sand is wavy. Tube pieces are somewhat hard to work with, but the zombie drops look great, too. The blue lights give it an eerie effect and just make it look better. The rocks in the middle look so natural, it's hard to tell they were forged from Sandbox's blocky objects.

I bet the footprint system plays great, even if it might be a little hard for the humans. These kind of gametypes require the humans to actually focus on their surroundings, which is honestly hard to pull off in Forge.

My only problem with this map is weapon pick-up for humans. Don't get me wrong, the shotgun and rockets are fine, but what I'm worried about are the... swords. When playing this game with other people, humans will (naturally) go after the swords, and it will be annoying having swordfight going on every 5 seconds, then having a zombie interfere and kill the human from behind. Don't ask me why, I just think it will make the gameplay get frustrating.

Other than that minor problem, this map looks great. Another fantastic map, Given To Fly, keep it up! DL'd and 5*/5

I remember playing this forever ago, it was really enjoyable, I'll give it a DL.

In response to the guy above me, The sword is rather useless as a human, you cannot lock onto a camo'd enemy, so you're basically screwing yourself over grabbing it. After the first round, when people realize that, they (hopefully) should'nt want to grab the sword anymore. It's really only somewhat useful in the beggining if you can lock onto a zombie that's already swinging at another player.

I would think this would be better if the zombies were a bit slower. But anyway this map looks great and really well interlocked. A dl from me sir.

Thats my problem, n00bs will go after the sword by instinct and get killed, rinse and repeat. It will get annoying and the n00bs will never learn.

Whether unintelligent people learn or not is their fault, not yours. You'll just play the game better.

I have experimented with this whole sword thing, and heres exactly what happens. You grab sword, thinking it will be funny to get them with their own weapon. Wrong. You are unable to lounge towards them, and if you manage to get into a sword battle with one, you are just a sitting duck. You can't do anything now but stick with that person till one of you die, and while this is going on, theres prolly already about two zombies running toward you anyway. Don't do it. You'll die. Fast.

Moving on, this game can be very fun as long as you use critical teamwork. Call-outs and assists work well, but eventually things catch up to you. (Things as in zombies) Yeah they use teamwork too. So whoever has that better bond is going to prevail. However if theres a teammate who is contributing noothing positive and is distracting you, you can always hit him with a incendiary grenade, he'll go completely blind for a few seconds, and has a good chance of death :)

Have fun with it, because it can have fun with you.

Really well made map and idea really fun to play well done. At first i thought it would be easy to see the zombies but you have to look very hard to see them especially when you are on top of the hill (which has a blind side). I like how simple it is as well . Make more minigames you are good at them. and will be looking forward to more maps by you.

After playing through, I'm proud to say that this is a fun map. Almost always you and your team will head to the top hill, and attempt to keep sharp eyes out. Of course, theirs always the typical gamer who try's to spawn kill, but never works ;)
Other then that, the beginning of the game is fun and exiting. As the game processes, zombies spread, Fast. Once at least 3 or 4 zombies are out in a large team game, it gets increasingly harder. I enjoy Infection games that take teamwork, and ammo into factors to worry about, while adding a strong theme. A fun game to play with friends, 4.5/5. Better then anything I could do, while the forging is near perfect.

This is a very good idea, and the forging is fantastic. Everything looks very clean and well-made. However, the gameplay gets old fast. Everyone just camps in that one corner where the zombies can't spawn. I was thinking it would be better if you made the zombies spawn at the four corners, forcing the humans to camp in the middle and be more vigilant. Maybe make the zombies headshot kills? Idk, like I said, it's a great idea, but it just doesn't play that well, imo.
