Waterloo Over 100 downloads, 15 ratings with an average of 4 stars. A giant, u-shaped highway overhangs Foundry. Supports all vehicles. Supports all gametypes. Download Map Description: ***SCREENS!!!*** 8-10 hours of work went into making this map. A huge, circular highway overhangs foundry in this one-of-a-kind map (not actually floating, supports are there for aesthetic value). The two bases in foundry are complete with Choppers, Wraiths, Warthogs, and Mongeese. Both bases are symmetrical in many ways, but host key differences that provide "balance" so their unique qualities allow fair gameplay. For example: (we'll name the base on the left base "A" and the base on the right base "B") Base A has no turrets, but multiple BR's and more cover. It also has the shield door in the back corridor placed closer toward the left side of Foundry, which works in it's favor as they have the shotgun and flame-thrower. This gives Base A a greater defense indoors. Base "B" has a higher sniper tower, two turrets with fair amounts of cover, a more easily accessed ramp, etc. They also have the spartan laser, opposed to Base A's rocket launcher. All of this works well to provide well balanced map that still mixes things up a bit. Don't believe me? Look at these pictures and find out for yourself. ***Feedback is very appreciated***
Next time, could you try to not embed pics? It pisses some people off. From what I see, it seems pretty neat. I liked the idea of a highway in Foundry, so you can be sure I'll check this out later.
alright, sorry. i'm new to the forgehub. don't you have to have a minimum of at least one embedded screenshot for any maps that you post?
I cant really tell by the screen. But a wraith on Foundry seems like an enormous mistake. And as I've told other people, 8-10 hours isn't that much, a really good map can take days or weeks to perfect.
I believe Nemihara failed in trying to tell you what was wrong with your post... He should have said to use imageshack or photobucket to make the pics larger, as he probably doesn't feel like squinting to see your 1-inch pics. He would also like to warn you that your map probably won't get many DL's until you do so.
alright, well that sucks. do I have to re-upload them again (I couldn't find the resizing thing before after I'd uploaded it, I have a temporary account on imageshack)? What resolution should I change them to (if that's how you make them appear larger in the first place)?
alright, well i'll work on changing the screenshot thing. I didn't see the thing about how long you've spent on a map before I posted my earlier comment. I have another map, a remake of boarding action, that I've, altogether, probably spent around 16 - 18 hours of time on, so maybe i'll post that one tomorrow ( with better screenshots). I've spent a little longer on this map than 10 hours, probably more-so around 12, but I didn't want to make it sound like I'd spent an outrageous amount of time on it. I'll see what I can do about the screenshots thing before I go to bed
Bad double post. Delete the second spammy one. Yeah, I guess I failed to convey my message a bit. I meant 'try not to thumbnail' but I was zoning a bit.
I dunno how to use imageshack cause I use photobucket myself, which automatically sizes the pics and is extremely easy to use for uploading. Did you save the pictures after clicking on them or from thumbnail form, cause that might make a difference...
haha I edited that comment if you meant about my double post, figured that didn't really fit on a forum like this. it's fine, thanks for telling me though. I was wondering why everyone else's pics were so much larger
Yeah, I had this problem too. Just use photobucket... I mean, it automatically copies the stuff in the link box for u. Now that's service!
alright, finished. I put the new pics up, better resolution + dimmensions and basically not thumbnails. that better =) ? Version 2 is on the way, but my xbox is getting repaired as of the current moment. All of the supports are stripped in that version and replaced with more map-like geometry (like an underhanging tunnel that you can use to sneak around). Also, the wraith will be removed in that version (my friend felt the same way about it). It's a lot more balanced.
yeah photobucket seems easier, but i figured out how to do it with imageshack and i don't feel like making the commitment to photobucket. the whole having to give them your cell phone number thing turned me off.
this looks interesting, and normaly on foundry a wraith would be a big mistake, but with this kind of a map, it could work.
Chap, stop double posting Espeacially about things that are not relevant No one cares about you imageshack photobucket adventure So lets get back on topic You map seems pretty well thought out and executed A couple of suggestions Looks to me as if there isnt enough cover And as said before, the wealth was a bad idea
This pretty cool it reminds me of tvaso highway with the wraith and thhe stuff on the top is like the street and then there r more vehicles
looks good and bad at the same time why did you put a wraith in it? and i see a chopper also... is this a race map, a vehicular map, or a slayer map? i dont know if combining those is such a good idea
This map is basically designed for all gametypes. I literally made it with the intention of making blatently "a map." It works well with CTF and Team Slayer, aside from those I have not tried it with any other gametypes (again, I sent my xbox in for repairs after I'd created it. I've only played it once at a friend's house, and that was the new version). the images are a little large, but I figure I'll try to do a better job with that when I upload the final version/my other map. specifically to iversonrocks03, everytime I was double posting, I was not in any way trying to bump (I realize that it's a lot ruder to bump on this site than on bnet). both times I was responding to someone else's comment (that appeared when I was posting). not to dis you or anything, but please do not refer to me as chap. what exactly would a photobucket adventure be? or were you referring to my questions about how to use photobucket/my single response to the guy above me about my opinions of which site to use. thanks for the compliments, I'm in the process of making a new version of this map without a wraith. I haven't quite finished the new version yet, but it's far more balanced. Thank you for the compliments! All downloads are very appreciated.
