The Redemption is a new aesthetic map I'm making. It is the biggest one I've made yet, and the trickiest one as well due to the covenant ship's shape. What you see before you is 60%ish done. The reference I used was this, and the Redemption looks a lot very much like it. It towers high above the sandbox main tier, just underneath the barrier and is probably the most accurate and biggest covenant ship to date. Yes, there is actually a hole in the ship for the laser, and the roof will be curvy like a real covenant ship. Expect the Redemption to be released soon.
A very sexy ship I can assure all of you that. Definitely looking forward to the final version of this rifte, really nice work so far. I think I see myself in the beam in those pics! And you said I wouldn't be in them...
Looking good. The bottom looks really good although the roof is the thing you really have to worry about, that is once you do the interior, riggghhht?
i'm saving the interior for last. i need to finish the bridge first which is a floor above the middle area. running out of large objects though.
Well the ship is nearing completion all I really need to do now is touch up and final aesthetics. I still have over 100 items left which is a big surprise, plus I've still got my OLN stuff. I'm thinking of making this playable now somehow, though the larger objects are pretty much gone. Suggestions are welcome.
Doubtful, I only have 100ish objects. I'm thinking more along the lines of a city actually. Covenant are zombies, helpless civilians and marines are trapped and have to hold out ^.^
Reverse Asset! ODST planning a guerilla attack on redemption...redemption is the main covenant base with ODST's coming in from various ways ... sadly the spawns for this would probably cost more then you have left and you would have to edit a couple parts of the ship to make it assety Thought just popped in my head...even if its not feasible thought id share
A good idea, but I don't think it's possible given the size and shape of the ship. It's more of a spawning room, really. I'm trying to make it playable with an Asset style class system spawn, but with a twist. If I decide to go on with it(and given it works) I'll announce it. The problem I see is (because I have 100ish objects and inf. budget) that I'm extremely limited with large obejcts. I only have like 25 block larges to work with. Double walls, block doubles, block huge, ect. All used up.
Looking awesome, but I think you should make the neck thinner like this: And about making it playable, you should make the Brutes the defenders and the ODSTs invade the ship and go through all the rooms of Brutes until they reach the destination.
You have a lot of patience and determination for making such a difficult this as this. Imma have to give you props on this one. One question though, are you going to make side structures(ships) or is this going to be it? Just asking.
Maybe you could have the ODST's drop from drop pods above the ship and invade it from there? Just a suggestion but so far it looks good.
I've been getting that suggestion a lot recently, trying to see what I can do as of now. Haven't been on forge in a while tbh though because of school work. There's almost no space is the problem. The ship floats maybe 5-10 meters underneath the barrier. That's a good idea though, wish I considered it earlier.
This looks insane. I've checked back on this preview a dozen times to see if there's any new pics. I'm really looking forward to this.
Sorry, I'll try to get more pictures as soon as I can. I've only recently been able to get back on forge (and when I do get on forge, I'll be working on a couple other projects) because my Shakespeare homework's starting to catch up to me :/ ima try to get more done as quick as I can. The exterior of the ship is finished though if you want to know, just the inside needs to be worked on. There's not too much space dude. Even if I did break the barrier, there's only a certain height limit before a death barrier, and plus you don't get enough momentum like in my other drop pods to cross through the invisible barrier.
Got a pretty good idea. Covenant Cruisers are the second most heavily armed Covenant ship (second to the Covenant Destroyer), so the ship should have some Plasma Cannons poking out of the ship's lateral lines. Also, every Covenant ship has an energy projector main weapon (Covenant equivalent to the MAC cannon), so you could lock down a Wraith in the upper section of the ship. With your forging skill, you could probably make it blend with the ship's curves. Also, if you have enough budget and/or space, most Covenant ships have a small atrium, being religious types. That might be nice.
new pics new pics I have decided that I will release all of my maps in progress, including this one, after the Reach beta ends. Oh, and I made the neck skinnier, I think it's better now.
