    The gametype seems to work really well and the amazing thing is you have got it working with many compatible maps and have gained popularity so shortly after having the original idea. I can't wait to get some games on this, I'll try to join next time you are having customs.

    Also, I am currently planning to make a map inspired by Halo 2's Colossus, which I think will work well with this gametype, so when I'm nearing finishing it, I will make it compatible with RS slayer and let you see it :)

    Good stuff cam, its nice to see the gametypes appealing to so many so fast :)
    All gametypes arent in a final release state at the moment though, theyre just available for download so people can get together and have a few games (even if im not there) and discuss what could make the gametype potentially better.

    However, I do feel some of the matches end too quickly (some dont even reach 3 minutes!) so i'll be adding a time limit eventually and putting the scores up indefinately.

    Yea, I did notice when I was testing a gametype that had similar scoring (but more complicated and on a larger scale) that reaching the score limit happened very quickly. According to the OP, you have the score limit at 200, when you can have it as high as 250, so it is possible for you to up it a little bit although this would only lengthen game slightly. Alternatively you CAN, as you said, make there no score limit and a time limit, although the majority of people subconsciously prefer a variation in game length (even if they do not know it themselves). If something is always a set length of time, humans, by nature, become bored easier and tend to look for elsewhere for their entertainment, despite how interesting what they are doing might do.

    At the end of the day though, this all comes down to testing to decide on things like these. Above I gave both sides of the argument, but through experience I would set an indefinite score limit, and a time limit of 8 minutes. However, this is just a guess and I would know better once playing games on it.

    I have just looked back at the OP, and I noticed FFA RS has a score limit of 100. May I just ask whether it is TRS or RS that games can end quickly in (or both)? If it is primarily RS then this is easier to solve, as you can more than double the score limit.

    I see you now have a new gametype called Regen Flag. I are a bit confused on how you got both flag and hill into one gametype (I suppose you left the hill out) but it is very intriguing. 'Splain?

    After some long moments and a lot of short moments of thinking and looking through the posts in this thread, I had an Idea. Big Team RS on Sandtrap. It is easy enough to kill people from start because you can just put the starting points on the landmines. Although I'm not sure about this one, because even for big team, Sandtrap is probably a bit big for this gametype. Although I will definitely look into setting maps up that would work for big team, I'm already having doubts how the gametype will play with big team, and i'm not sure if there is any point as it is hard enough to get enough people together for normal 4v4 customs these days baring in mind how old Halo 3 is. meh.

    I tried this yesterday and it is f****** sweeet. it requires alot more skill than swat which can be quite boring and i find the hill a great idea. I love the way weapons can still be used and how you are actually awarded for kills because of the leech trait. My favorite map we played on was the small one on sandbox, TRS Rise i think. it was a really fun map and was great with the FFA version. I think spawns need to be sorted out on it for tean games though. My least favorite map was gyroscope only because of the hill location. It is too high up and when you get up there the game can be finished in one or two minutes. But the asthetics on Gyroscope were insane. Capture the flag was fun aswell but the flag return time was rediculously long. If these things get fixed these maps and gametypes are perrrrfect! I hope more maps for this gametype arise.

    Suggestion: Regen FFA can sometimes finish to quickly, so my suggestion is put a time limit of 10 minutes and infinite scoring. At the end of 10 minutes the top score wins.

    Can I help with the posting of the map pack? If you want to create video can I setup the forum post with screenshots and all?

    Well the map pack will be a while off yet, as people are yet to get interested in the map designing for this gametype (probably because the gametypes arent perfected yet)

    However, I think it would be more fair if the person with the most maps in the map pack creates the map pack thread and gives credit to all, and if all 5 maps are by different authors then they can decide amongst themselves or write their own sections with a similar theme.

    Thanks for the massive interest comis :)

    Primarily both gametypes vary in depth of speed depending on how skilled the players are and how many players decide to go for the hill. In the team games these tend to last 3 or 4 minutes, and the FFA ones can sometimes last 5 to 6 minutes. I was looking into how the scoring system works, 5 points a second in the hill is probably a bit too rewarding.. So that may be taken down a notch.

    Regen flag is just a little spin off, same traits apply to the flag carrier as someone in the hill (except you dont recieve points for holding the flag, you just receive points for scoring) So once holding the flag, your shields decrease fast (this encourages flag running really) But damage whilst holding the flag is 200%, so if someone comes along with full O.Ss your gonna whoop them pretty bad in close quarters.

    I'm currently creting Regen Ball.. which will work and play exactly like Regen Slayer appart from the hill is obviously the ball, and the ball is moveable.

    As for the big team idea, i think maps should not really be any bigger than the crypt ideally, people die really quickly on spawn and the idea is they need to be straight back in the action and not running around trying to find anyone. I think thats why rise works so well for 4v4, its compacted with a nice open feel but intricate sight lines.

    Oh and i know, FHs having problems atm with videos

    The other day I was showing Regen Slayer to some people and they really liked it. One of them said that its going to be the new asset, where everyone makes there own maps and posts them. I have a feeling he was right!

    :surprise: why didn't i think of that, it sounds like it would work really well, perhaps even as good as the original. And now i think about it, you could probably create spinoffs for every gametype (except maybe juggernaut and infection)

    I know the question wasn't aimed at me, but i personally think it looks pretty sweet, with a good choice of images. Tbh though, im not fond of the text. The colour of it to me just doesn't fit in with the background image, there's too much of a contrast.. if u get what i mean...

    Ditto that, The green is a little too bright..
    However, not having photoshop and original MS Paint (i only have 7 paint now and its crap compared to the old version) i was looking for someone to create an icon like i have

    Its the Regenerater logo for in game, with the man from Slayer gametypes and the crown from KOTH. All mixed together, I think it'd be pretty bad ass putting that over a picture of one of the RS maps. But Seen as though i made the image in paint, it looks pretty bad cause you can do transparency or anything.. but see what you can do man

    EDIT: Alternatively.. i think instead of having the Regenerator icon behind the Slayer guy, you should replace the target on his chest with the regen icon so it indicates "Shoot here to heal" :D
    I reckon that would look mint!

    Try make them small enough so they dont have to resize when posted, that way they can be used as signatures :)

    The cross needs to be chunkier and the symbol needs to be higher (and it might look better white?)

    Also wheres the KOTH crown dude? and the map in the background.. tut tut ;)
