With the Pokewalker all you need to do is return it to the same game cartridge but to even get a friend code you need to connect to Wi-Fi. If it's gonna be a while until you get your own DS then just use your bro's. And if you don't even have wifi you might not wanna waste your time.

    tl;dr
Use bro's DS for WFC. No wifi? Stop the madness.

What do you guys think of this Pokemon FireRed Team?

    Charizard
    Lapras
    Alakazam
    Victreebell
    NidoKing
    Fearow.

That's going to be for my FireRed Let's Play team, if you guys have any suggestions, they'd be very appreciated.

Voltorb flip is addictingly fun, and im also playing it to get pokemon. If you wanna stop wasting time with an AR and get things legit, we'll be waiting.

i REALLY wanted a fighting type pokemon so when i weighed pros and cons of poliwrath and politoed i chose poliwrath. Once he gets some epic fighting moves he'll be just what i need. quick question, what establishes the difference between special attack and attack?

lol, voltorb flip is potentially the best game within a game i've ever played. i'm addicted as well. far from a waste of time, and a big theme in heartgold i'm going to go with is legitimacy so i'll pass on the AR ****. I like a challenge, the sense of reward is the key to keeping an RPG fun.

My party i have now, i'm going to make sure i use NOTHING from any other game. It's going to be my heartgold ONLY team. So if i need something for my four guys, i'll have to get it in the game (with exception of trading to evolve). It's a neat challenge i'm going to roll with.

    My HG-only party:
    Murkrow 41
    Chikorita 41
    Gengar 41
    Poliwrath 41

what others would you guys recommend? Suggestions for anything to change?

attack is basically a physical attack from the pokemon itself, like a punch. special is like a projectile or something coming from the pokemon.

Yea I understand what you mean with Poliwrath, I just wanted a politoed for the pokedex, the sp. atk and the fact Ive never had one before.

And I completely agree with you on Voltorb Flip. Its amazingly addictive and fun. Plus, theres no fun in AR's... you get everything cheaply and illegitimately.

Anyway, the difference between sp. atk and regular attack, as well as sp. def and def are the attack types. If you are using Politoed, whom is more sp. atk focused as opposed to Poliwrath, who is Attack focused, and you teach him ice beam, then ice beam will be more powerful for Politoed than poliwrath because it is a special attack. But if you use something like brick break with Poliwrath as opposed to Politoed, that move is physical, so its based on the attack stat, and is very powerful for a physical based pokemon like poliwrath. Basically, if a move makes physical contact, its based on Attack, and affects the normal defense stat of the opponent. A special attack is like a move that is shot at or thrown at the opponent, and affects special defense.

I hope that wasn't too confusing... tl'dr- Special attacks=Sp. Atk and Sp. Def
    Physical Attacks=Attack and Defense.

And your team sounds good... I'm not sure who to recommend but... are you ever gonna evolve your chikorita? or are you just waiting for it to get awesome moves earlier, then quickly evolve it with better moves... cause thats a good strategy. Just curious.

Don't worry bro. I've got a lot of things actually legit, I have like 2000-ish coins but the game gets me mad. Everything but TMs and medical items are legit.

thanks for clarifying dudes, i thought that's what it was.

thanks for the input. i won't evolve my starter this game until i beat the elite four. I want a chikorita in my first hall of fame >.< I'll get good moves early, which is great, but my true reasoning is to challenge myself.

new question: where's a good place to get heart scales for move tutoring? i ****ed up my gengars moves and i need one. (and another to teach poliwrath ice punch later)

You can get Heartscales I think from breaking rocks with rock smash, from luvdisc's and I think randomly with the dowsing machine. Also, in some routes in the pokewalker. Specifically, the Beautiful beach path, as that one is one of the early and easy ones to unlock, and all you need to do is walk 2000ft in it for there to become a 20% chance of finding a heartscale.

    LOL lucky XD
    ---
I've been spending the last hour in the fiercest battle against Lance I've ever had. My team is underleveled a bit for the fight (lower 40's) so its definitely hard, but I have two big ice moves. I'm finally down to just his Charizard and my last couple revives/heals... shits intense.

It seems like everyone has been having a lot of troubles with Claire and the Elite Four. Oddly I never had any of these problems. My Typhlosion leveled so easily and just raped all the gym leaders. I got the red Gyarados and it helped a little. My Typhlosion somehow easily beat every single challenge that everyone is currently having.

    tl;dr
My Typhlosion is so beast that I beat the entire game with it.

My Typhlosion got an Adamant nature so its Sp. Att. is lowered and for a fire type, that's not very good. I realized too late into the game that I didn't want to restart, and it would take a while to raise another fire type, so I have to rely on my hard hitters like my Mamoswine and Scyther.

I've done that, using just a charizard... its easy.

I didn't have trouble, I just didn't try to level my team up properly, so they were lower leveled and it was a funner challenge. Claire and them all were easy, Lance was just a long fight cause I was low and he got lucky with criticals...

Now I'm gonna trade my SS pokemon to my HG since I beat red there and **** and start a new game on SS because I want to play it again, as well as move on to Kanto in HG.

I did that with my Pearl. I had the greatest team ever. Once I beat the 8th gym leader in Platinum I transferred them over. Once I beat the Elite Four on SS I transferred over that team over. I only use that team if someone wants a whoopin', but they're still good to have around when that time comes.
