its not a class system. a class system means you pick something and you are that and only that for the rest of the game. This is a dynamic system that does nothing more than solves the issue of people whining about starting with an AR or a BR. You won't have access to power weapons in a loadout, and each loadout or set of loadouts are specifically designed to be balanced on a per map, per gametype basis to be balanced. It also speeds up gameplay by eliminating the need to search for something with which you can defend yourself with upon spawn. You can now immediately get into the action and aid your team. There will still be weapon pick-ups on the map. Its still Halo.
I'm not exactly sure it would remove the whining, because if you remember when they included BR/AR starts, people still (stupidly) complained that it wasn't fair that people had a BR at start which trumped their AR.
Well considering the BR is gone now, and the core weapons of the sandbox have been pushed more into their niche roles, its pretty much a foregone conclusion that each weapon will have its time and place where its the clear best option, and the point of loadouts is that you get to pick the best tool for the job according to the map/gametype and your playstyle. Its going to change Halo, but its not going to completely turn it on its head. People, in general, are overreacting about it.
It all looks pretty nice so far, I dislike how overpowered the elites are, but I can't really judge that until Bungie release the full perks of being a spartan. Also, the Jetpack is going to be full of noobs, some easy sniping if you ask me. >
yup. i loved that game. The pistol was a great weapon, but at times hard to use. You had to lead your shots alot and headshots were very difficult unless they were standing still.
I don't imagine it's fully semi-auto. They said the magnum can kill twice as fast as the DMR, meaning it obviously won't be too overpowered.
I think Bungie is trying to pull us away from using a few select weapons and actually use every weapon in the game. Think about it: Pistol is a little better but not over powered No more damned BR Loadouts It all adds up to get us to use every single weapon. What do you think about this theory?
There's fully automatic weapons and theres semi automatic weapons, but not fully semi automatic weapons. I think its right.
This thread needs more comments, I mean its a HALO site and the MW2 thread has a bazillion more comments!
Yeah, I should have been clearer, I meant that the rate of fire would be limited, to prevent trigger tapping and controller hacks obliterating online. Thanks for clearing that up. Also, does anyone know if the grenade launcher weapon just de-shields in one launch, or does it kill enemies in one shot..? I don't want it turning into a MW2 noobfest...
