Basically they just meant the shotgun will be more accurate the closer you use it, and it will have a slightly longer range than in halo 3. Before, you could basically just shoot in their general direction and itd register as you shooting them directly. Now, you'll have to be aiming pretty close to perfect at them to do real damage.
That seems terribly ironic for a shotgun. I suppose it depends on whether buckshot or slugs are being used.
Shotguns are actually incredibly powerful/own everything in life. The problem is that because videogames have much closer range combat than life, the shotgun would win every battle if it were givin its realistic range.
I hate how the new banshee looks. I'm just hoping that the controls for it will be similar to the one in ODST or halo 2 where you could actually stop in mid air.
The Banshee actually looks like it can fly now, because before it looked really... off to me, and about Bungie and Balance, IMO The Game is PERFECTLY balanced at lower skill levels, however higher up in the skill range, The BR rises as the Dominant all around weapon.
Im not sure how to respond to that because Im not sure how anyone can see a purple air vehicle as one of those... Anywho, I hope the banshees can have better controls. I hate how you can't do a divebomb/look straight down with the H3 banshees. I want the flying to be like the Halo:CE banshees, but with Halo 2 moves like barrel rolls, boosts and flips.
I think the reason they wanted to change the banshee for halo 3 was to get them back to their designed purpose. Sweeping and repeating. While this was really frustrating for people who've played halo 1 and 2 I think the Banshee was still very effective. If they did re-add the ability to hover then they'd have to drop the plasma bomb. Those two together would be devastating.
It's not so much how I think the controls for the banshee are going to be (though MickRaider brought up a good point on how hover/plasma ability being overpowered in MM) that make me dislike the banshee, but rather that this banshee looks like the flying purple hippo from Age of Mythology. Honestly, in no way does that thing look like it's supposed to be able to do a barrel roll at any given time. I wish they kept it looking more like Halo 3's banshee by having it more streamlined and compact, but whatever. Maybe it'll look different in game. Actually, I think I figured out why I hate how the new banshee looks. The wings. Puny in comparison to the body; doesn't look like it can fly. It's like a bee!
I think the Banshee looks a lot tougher personally, and I think it looks much better this way, It seems to match the art style of the Elites.
They said the Banshee's functionality hasn't changed much. But they didn't reference if that was from the Halo 3 or from ODST iterations. I personally think the H3 Banshee is the best iteration yet. Sure the hover in place was fun, but it also made the Banshee pretty overpowered in my opinion.
The only thing I hate about the halo 3 banshee that I think should be changed is how slow you do moves. They are so slow, it barely helps. I liked in halo 2 how quick they were.
The ability to remain still is an overpowering factor. Perhaps instead of increasing the basic speed they could increase the speed when boosting? You can't shoot when boosting and you could increase the damage taken when crashing into things so people dont boost scraping across the floor splattering everyone. I think they should bring in the Halo 1 thing of falling out of a Banshee when you crashed into something going upwards funny as ****.
