I bought it, Ds was red and low on power and I couldn't find my charger. I played it for 10 minutes before it cut out on me. One thing to say.

    WHAT THE **** IT'S 3D NOW????!!!!!

Yeah they made it like that when they released Pearl and Diamond.
I'm currently training up my pokemon before I go into Victory Road.
    Current levels:

    1. Typhlosion level 44
    2. Pidgeot level 40
    3. Poliwhirl level 41
    4. Ampharos level 43
    5. Nidoking level 37
    6. Haunter level 42
I'm really tempted to just ditch Nidoking at the moment and get a Sneasel or something else. I don't feel that it fits in with the rest of my team. All it's good for is for saving Poliwhirl from having to have 3 HMs. Anyone think I should swap it? If so who for?

Ya, I was mind blown when I saw Pearl. The graphics are totally full of win now.

And to anyone, like Randle, I would like to borrow your Kyogre caught in HG. I will lend Kyogre.

Yah, Nidoking's stats aren't actually that great(If you add up the number of one's stats at level 100 and compare it to an eevee evolution at level 100 the Nidoking's total number of points is around fifty less, and the eevee's are actually kind of low on the totem of pokemon if you add up the number's) baisically you could look up replacements here, this guy has broken down every stat and trait of every pokemon.

traded my lvl 100 empoleon for a Lapras. im happy with the decision. lapras + aerodactyl + gallade = boss hoss 3 man team. then i also have my charizard, raichu, and either dragonite/garchomp/salamence to train. not sure which one yet. im leaning towards garchomp. charizard and raichu are at 80 and the dragons around 70. although i might switch my raichu for a jolteon.

no, changed my mind. im going to breed and get a pikachu that knows volt tackle.

All I need to decide on to finish my pokemon party is my flying type, should I get a Pigeot, Altaria, or Staraptor? Im thinking Altaria since it has pretty descent stats and looks cool, although Im thinking if I should get Staraptor because It was the first pokemon I caught in pokemon pearl and one of the first pokemon I got to lv 100. Pigeot... Idk it just is a good standard flying type to have...

What's the rest of your team? I'm only asking because out of the three you chose there are much better possibilities for a flying type.

Also, whenever Chuck reads this, I'm just gonna try and find a shiny ditto on my own.

    Wish me luck.

well when the moment came i was going to tell you that a shiny ditto is useless, it just shows you what it WOULD feel like to have a shiny pokemon in battle. when it comes to breeding, it helps NOTHING and doesn't increase your chances in any way. It's not hereditary. I have 4 boxes of hatched sneasels and a google search that came too late that help prove this.

i caught a misdreavus in the safari zone this morning :D
my sister will be getting an egg.

It does increase, but it's still a small chance, but much greater than that before using a shiny ditto.

I think it needs to act as the female, but I'm unsure. Either way, the parents IV's are passed down to the bred pokemon, IV's are the most important factor in determining the shininess of a pokemon, thus shininess CAN be hereditary.

i think shiny ditto makes it a 1 in 64 chance of shiny baby.

That's how it was in the original gold and silver, they got rid of that system completely. it's just the 1 in 8,000 chance or whatever EVERY time no matter what.

Shiny Pokémon - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia

read that. i also should point out that my failed 2 month long shiny sneasel baby mission was breeding a shiny ditto AND shiny sneasel.
    ---
nope, the shiny parents have NOTHING to do with it after generation II. read the link above.

EDIT: **** it, i'll just post this paragraph

"In Generation III, most of the data structures were redone. As such, a Pokémon's shininess would no longer need to be linked to its stats due to incompatibilities between the previous generations. The determinant for shininess is instead a calculation based on the Trainer ID number and secret ID number of the player encountering it and the personality value of the Pokémon. The same method is used in Generation IV.

and i hope that gets rid of any shiny myths in the forgehub crowd.

So, you can only find certain shinies of a pokemon based on nature?

not really, there's more to it than that. just know there is a probability of 8 in 65536 for every encounter with a pokemon no matter what the circumstance.

    that's 1/8192
