and realisticly we dont quickscope. there are a lot of unrealistic things in this game. so get over it.
The .408 round, although smaller, arrives on target with a greater kinetic force than a .50 cal round does. It's a difference of a few tenths of a gram, but the .408 round can travel faster while delivering a payload that weighs almost the same with great accuracy over a longer range. So, the guy would definitely feel it, it'd probably do more damage than a .50 cal would. I'd still use a .50 cal to take out sam sites, but for 'wetwork' the intervention is my preferred choice.
I know that! I dont quickscope in MW2, i barely snipe either. But all I am saying is that the .50cal is underpowered at times, IDC if its semi-automatic, it should kill with one shot just as much as the Intervention does. I bet your telling me to get over it because you're an Intervention lover! Down with the Intervention lovers! We should have a Sniper battle. One team snipes with the intervention and the other team snipes with the Barrett, and may the best sniper rifle wins!
Both I find that they are both good rifles. I prefer the Intervention over the Barrett .50 because of my playstlye, but everyone has there own preferences. Anyways, I have a question. Can I replace Stopping power by putting the FMJ on the gun? Sounds noobish, I know, but I only recently started trying to snipe (notice "trying").
No, FMJ doesnt really cause more damage, just allows for more bullet penetration, because "realistically" more bullet penetration means less stopping power. Oh, and welcome to Forgehub! We will eat your brains! Is anybody still up for that Intervention vs Barrett .50cal sniper battle?
Are you retarded? The barret in game does the EXACT same ammount of damage in game. Don't blame the weapon, blame the fact that you're trying to shoot with your ****.
haha. i lold. but the intervention just seeems like it 1 hit kills more. even a barrett lover admits that.
Lol I was making a joke. I also doubt a SMG weighs 5 lbs but that's not the point. This is why I hate "realistic" video games. They try so hard to be realistic and then it just isn't and everyone bitches.
What the **** are you talking about!? The Barrett doesnt get consistent one-shot kills like the intervention does. And where did "shooting with my ****" come from!? In-game, the Barrett makes the real-world Barrett look like a dart gun.
You don't get one hit kills b/c you can't use it. In game, it has the exact same damage as the intervention.
i think what happens in game is different from what happens in stats. what if the multiplier AREAS differ?
You want more proof? A couple more videos I found: YouTube- MW2 - Intervention VS. Barret YouTube- Barrett .50 Cal vs. Intervention Damage Test As you can see, both snipers deal the same damage, and the Barrett sway less and settles from holding your breath faster than the Intervention. As stated above, if you're quick/noscoping and complaining about hitmarkers, STFU, you can't tell if you hit his head or his pinky toe if you aren't zoomed in. Don't blame it on the rifle.
Watch these videos: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/gamin...rvention-vs-barrett-50-cal-4.html#post1155045 The snipers are identical, and the hitboxes are identical regardless of gun. Go here and compare the intervention and Barrett. The only difference is the barrett shoots faster. Modern Warfare 2 | DenKirson on Xanga
That chart doesnt prove anything, its just filled with random numbers someone jotted. When you fire a round at someone with the .50cal it wont always be a one-shot kill. Its like the Intervention has a better chance for one-shot kills. Compared to the .50cal in CoD4, it seemed like you shot one-shot kills more frequent than the one in MW2. I have stopping power and no other attachments but FMJ and I still find myself having to fire a second round to kill someone. I still wanna do that Intervention vs Barrett .50cal sniper battle...
Yes hard facts about actual damage figures that are 100% accurate don't prove anything. Wait... WHAT?! Of course they prove it. Both guns are 2 hit kills from the knees, and 1 hit kill from anywhere else. Don't be tricked by your perception.
The stats are taken directly from data inside the pc version of the game. They are correct. Not just random numbers. I'm not sure if anyone knows why hit markers happen, and therefore can't predict the chances of it happening per gun, but there is a very good chance the guns are exactly equal.
Well I dunno, I still think that the intervention has a higher chance of one-shot kills in "actual battle" rather than standing still, regardless of the stats. There's only one true way to settle this... Sniper Fight!!!
No, you're wrong. Both guns are identical. Just because you have some affinity towards bolt action doesn't make it any better.
