Randle, there are stat-boosters, right? I could use those. At the time, really, my "friend" (now ex-friend due to various reasons) sort of pressured me into leveling them all up. I regret it, looking back on it, but I love my team nonetheless, since we've been through so much together. "sniff" Oddly enough, we had two completely different parties of Pokemon who were both leveled-up in the same manner, and we had a tie. Do you know how hard it is to tie in these game?
I just beat Morty, here's my team. 23 Heracross 23 Flaaffy 25 Croconaw (Hydrin) 31 Crobat (Dracula -- traded over from other playthrough) 12 Nidoran -- HM SLAVE (Use this little guy for an HM slave, Rock Smash, Strength, and Cut can be put on him) I think it's much better, seeing as how HERACROSS ****ING OWNS ALL KNOWN TO MANKIND. But yeah, I got my Heracross at level 5 and she is just SO BEAST -- she took out Whitney's Miltank in like 3 Brick Breaks (level 19 s/he learns it) and it knows Aerial Ace which improves it's speed, if Heracross wasn't that fast already, it's actually going first throughout the whole time I've used it I believe. Here's her stats : 68 ATK 45 DEF 24 SP.ATK (Heracross is an physical Attacker, so yeah.) 52 SP.DEF 57 SPEED I love having a Heracross, she doesn't have that good of moves yet though. EDIT : Don't bring me down plz, this is an awesome Pokemon for me. OMG DEJAVU AS I'M WRITING THIS 8D
Lol HM slaves. It's such a pity HMs can't be assigned outside the movesets. I hate having to teach at least one pokemon fly... Anyway, my future SS party (in the works) Typhlosion (Cinder) Feraligatr (Lockjaw) Girafarig w/Mirror Coat (Chomptail) Sudowoodo (Bonzai) Dragonite (Blitz) Dragonite *shiny* (Sturm) I got a bit greedy and decided on 2 Dragonites. Plus it'd look badassery in double battles.
The pokewalker is stupid, but entertaining. I figured out that it doesn't matter about the steps you take, just if you put the pokemon on the thing. By that it means that everytime you take the pokemon on the walker it levels up, but only when you bring it back to HG or SS.
Is anyone who's more stat-savvy than I willing to tell me if these stats are good for the levels of my Pokemon? Randle's comment is sticking with me. Blaziken, lvl. 92: Leveled up naturally without the use of the Rare Candy hack. HP: 288 Attack: 272 Defense: 154 Sp. Attack: 234 Sp. Defense: 152 Speed: 206 Togekiss, lvl 100: Got off of the GTS at lvl 100. HP: 299 Attack: 121 Defense: 212 Sp. Attack: 298 Sp. Defense: 262 Speed: 189 Espeon, lvl 100: Leveled up naturally 'til lvl 86, then Rare Candy'd to 100. HP: 293 Attack: 172 Defense: 188 Sp. Attack: 302 Sp. Defense: 201 Speed: 263 Froslass, lvl. 100: Rare Candy'd from around level 35. HP: 261 Attack: 180 Defense: 154 Sp. Attack: 174 Sp. Defense: 165 Speed: 249 Lumineon (shiny), lvl 100: Got off of GTS at lvl. 100. HP: 284 Attack: 190 Defense: 188 Sp. Attack: 153 Sp. Defense: 198 Speed: 199 Deoxys, lvl 100: Got off of the GTS at lvl 100. HP: 242 Attack: 208 Defense: 204 Sp. Attack: 244 Sp. Defense: 195 Speed: 334 Note: Deoxys is currently in Speed Form. Oh, and these are all in Diamond.
Downloaded a ROM for Emerald the other day. I'm doing a playthrough using nothing but Pikachu and Larvitar/Pupitar/Tyranitar for the whole game (in terms of battling.) So far, I'm at Dewford getting one shotted by ****ing Brawly's Machop. ;_; What's worse is my Pikachu Larvitar are both level 20ish. FFFFFFF Also, just beat Red on HeartGold yesterday with nothing but a level 87 Starmie. God I love Starmie...
Not sure how old this group is. . . but can anyone else say they've been playing pokemon since the release of Red and Blue? After the second generation it sort of went down hill, but the fourth picked it up a little bit with the internet compatibility. I has 100's of all my stuffs I've had since fifth grade =).
I've been playing since Red and Blue and still at 15 seem very intrigued by pokemon. They're just freakin' awesome. --- I almost did that but my cats don't have collars and I don't want to put tape on 'em.
I agree with pretty much every statement you've said. And to be honest most of this group is in high school lol, it's a complex RPG overshadowed by "kiddiness" which once you realize it's not, you start to love the game even more. For me Pokemon Red was the first video game I picked out myself. When my Grandma got me my DS she gave me tetris and I think one other, but I picked out pokemon red when I went to the store with my mom for my birthday. I was immediately hooked, and would journal about my experiences with pokemon as a child. I had every pokemon game up until ruby, which afterward became uncool to like pokemon, and being at a socially awkward stage, I ventured away, I drew back after watching a young kid at a party play it on his TV, and I was hooked once again. (I got ruby, shoulda got emerald and sapphire as well looking at it, filling my pokemon collection). I didn't initially get firered or leafgreen, but I did purchase Diamond several years later, not thinking too much of it. I got platinum about march of last year, and that's when I started seriously diving into the RPG aspects of pokemon, and really worked on training. Platinum is starting to lose it's place as my favorite pokemon game to Heart Gold though.
I really want to get Soul Silver, and get into Competitive battling. I purchased Platinum so with that and Soul Silver, I have the intention of pretty well getting every Pokemon used in the higher metagames. Is Soul Silver worth the 40$, I could get it for free with a AceCard, but the Pokewalker seems cool, and I like to spend money on games I like to show my support to the companies and such. I got it in Emerald once, EV training became a breeze.
@Panncakez: (in spoilers for space) Spoiler Your team isn't EV trained first of all, so automatically they have worse stats than they could. Second, the fact they have been mostly rare candied to lvl 100 makes their stats worse. While just getting to lvl 100 might seem like the top and all it takes to have a solid team, it actually doesn't work well as the candies raise stats badly, so you dont get the best stats. Though for your Blaziken, it is the best one on your team. (fitting as it isnt rare candied or received from the GTS) The stats on it arent amazing but theyre pretty good for a Blaziken. Anyway yea... Im no stat expert, but I know enough I guess, and thats my take on your team. Also, on an added note, ubers are lame. Anyway, I've been playing since Red and Blue, and I still have my original Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, SP, and Red, Yellow, Silver, Crystal, Firered, Leafgreen, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, and now Heartgold and Soulsilver. They truly are the greatest RPG's imo. Currently, I beat Soulsilver save for Red, and Im in the middle of my HG, having just beaten the 8th gym and am trying to get Ho-oh. Im attempting to SR for a shiny one, but it takes so long lol, and unlike other pokemon, Ho-Oh isnt a legendary I totally love shiny, so I think I might save the SRing until I get to Mewtwo or something...
I'm eighteen, and because my mum is from Wales I travel alot. So I have played the pokemon games since I got blue (my first videogame) and I still love them. Though my favorite was probably gold. (By the way how do people have teams of all 100's, after all these years I've only gotten up to a level 83 venasaur on my own, I loaned a kid my diamond and got 3 100s out of it!)
Thanks for the input, Pigglez. I realize that for stats and such, I regret doing that. I've got a few more chances since I have Platinum (haven't played it much, if at all) and haven't purchased HeartGold or SoulSilver. Hopefully I'll be able to get more serious after this analysis. I suppose that I shouldn't really be taking it this seriously anyway, since it is just a game, after all, but if I want to ever battle any of you (which I do... eventually) then I'll have to keep this in mind. And, sorry if this sounds extremely noobish... but what is EV training? I've heard the term before, but haven't dug into it too much.
It's choosing which enemies to fight when gaining experience, to raise the Effort Values of your stats, which ultimately raises your stats. For example if you wanted to raise your HP EV's you'd fight a pokemon with a lot of HP. Here's a list of all the pokemon and what EV's you gain from defeating them
Get it for real, alot more benefits and perks. And its ALOT easier to do trades and such I got Pokerus in FR, i had NO idea what it was until a few months ago
i've seen and experienced it all in regards to Pokemon games. Blue(had a mewtwo named GENETIC and a Blastoise. they kicked asss), Gold(LOVED this game soooo much), Crystal(the closest i EVER came to completing my pokedex, the game glitched and deleted everything), Ruby(this gen still feels soo weird to me, it's where my super dragon team was born), Diamond (I have SO MANY pokemon in this game, every legendary ever) Platinum (i still havent beat it... but my epic dragon team that i've had since Ruby is here) and now HeartGold. For me, the biggest generation for me was gold/crystal, like, genII WAS my childhood... HeartGold nearly brings nostalgia tears to my eyes with every city i go to. I'm ****ing lovinggg this game, it's bringing me back. This is awesome, best thing to come to the DS yet. my current team: Fearow 25 Haunter 25 (MIGHT replace) Chikorita 25 Togetic 26 Goldeen 22 HM ***** GOES HERE seriously, if there's one thing i dont like about pokemon it's ****ing HMs. **** cut, **** strength. fly and surf are the only ones that are decent, but they still take up space for a move. Seriously, we only get 4 moves, so wtf. I just beat Morty with flying colors, togetic and fearow were unstoppable. I never raised a togepi in all my years playing this game, so togekiss here i come
I want a togekiss kind of, but im way too lazy to raise it, i may try. Could anyone here trade me a delibird?
I could find one, do you care if it's name is in Japanese? I can make an English Nickname, but only 5 Characters.
