I have lost my xbox spirit, been playing a LOT of Rome Total war. Old I know but has great lasting power. Especially with a fast computer...
Oh wow, Me too, Modern Warfare 2 Killed Gaming for me. Up Until I bought Modern Warfare 2, I would play for about 5-6 hours a day. Then I got MW2, Gaming has never been fun since. Congrats Infinity Ward, your Game broke my spirit, I hope your Happy. What I suggest, Getting Just Cause 2, I got the demo and ever since then I am back up to 4 hours a day of gaming, I find myself being drawn to an entirely new genre of games besides FPS. Just Cause 2 is slowly renewing my spirit, thankfully. Modern Warfare 2, DIAF
Maybe you guys should smoke more before you play videogames? Playing videogames just to play videogames, sucks. And what the ****, how do some of you just sit there and just play videogames sober for like 4 hours straight. And all this bullshit about not wanting to give up the community, and gaming. It's a ****ing fancy white box, that puts flashing lights and **** on your television. Trust me, giving this all up, it's the only way. Best decision you guys have ever made.
I do it out of the goodness of my own heart. It's a little something I can give back to this community.
Play with my party and me on MW2. We play for fun and have awesome times every game we play. Whenever I can't play Xbox, I mostly care about the fact that I can't play with my peeps. --- Haha, I know, right? I think it's hilarious though.
I feel that mw2 is a gaming spirit killer. I get in this fog of "PLAY COD PLAY COD PLAY COD". If I play anything else I get this sense of "WASTING TIME, NEED TO LVL". It pisses me off too. Last summer I broke the chain of playing cod4 and waw for the "LVL LVL LVL" stage. Go out and buy an rpg game like oblivion or fallout, beat the whoooollllle ****ing thing. Then you won't give a **** about leveling, it'll all be about fun... Same thing happens when you don't play for two months.
--- Yeah that would be pretty cool, send me an add if you want. I really only play MW2 for fun now, it does kind of seem it did make me die a little inside. Unfortunately now i have become addicted to WoW.... I can't stop playing WoW now. My xbox has just been neglected.
You're totally right bro. I can't believe I didn't come to this realization sooner. I should sell my xbox for more weed. God damn, you are a ****ing genius.
A month or two ago I completely lost my interest in console gaming. It's all about who can beat who now and it depresses me when I join an xbox live party or game and everyone in it is screaming because they got "spawn-killed" or someone is beating them. The only game I've been playing a lot of recently on consoles is the multiplayer-RPG on TwoWorlds. Apart from that I usually only stay on live to talk to people. Luckily I bought Gary's Mod Recently which IMO is one of the last remain "new gen" games that lets you play about without having to worry about aggressive competition. As I've said before Stouf, Rome: Total War is one of my favourite games ever! If it wasn't for pc games I would probably loose faith in gaming all together since they still hold a platform for "fun" games.
So, how 'bout you play some less popular games? The community in those games is generally much better then that of more popular games like Halo and MW2. Just an observation I made a while ago when playing a lot of Shadowrun and Red Alert a while back. Maybe you should also join a group in a forum. A sense of community can really drive the gaming spirit up. Now that I think about it, that's what gaming is about. Just play with friends. Don't go online to win X amount of matches. Get a few friends, invite them and just put the controller in your hand and follow the objectives loosely.
This happens, it's just like a romantic relationship: sometimes you need a break, or you'll feel emotionally num. This depends, are games boring you? Or is everything boring you? If it's games, give it time, no biggie. If it's everything, eat a bowl of ice cream and cookies with a friend while watching a rerun of SNL, it always works.
Now I know where it all went wrong... I was smoking games, ****ing trees, and playing ho's *facepalm* My gaming spirit was temporarily killed by being hooked into one game. For a while I could only play FFXI on my 360 and everything else felt like a waste of time. Thank god Microsoft screwed over the game with the NXE Update, essentially forcing me off the game cold turkey. I don't think I would've ever left voluntarily. I still get withdrawl symptoms...
