The Kingdom of Ra Created by: Aftershock 10 Recommended Players: 1 Required Gametype: Discovery Oh, hello there my fellow feisty fortune-foragers! Please allow me to regale you with my efforts to solve the mystery surrounding The Kingdom of Ra; I warn you it culminates with a horrible mess involving a decrepit old mummy (actually all my stories seem to end that way!). I cautiously approach an ancient temple in hopes of acquiring the tantalising Treasure of Ra. I’ve heard stories that this place is cursed, littered with many deadly and varied traps; some may only bring me close to death, others can prove instantly fatal. I swiftly surmise that navigating this place will require careful planning, quick wits, and impressive acts of dexterity; in short, I’m screwed! The initial thing I notice, as I enter a beautifully constructed yet undeniably evil corridor, is the fusion coil greeting me in the face. In a cruel twist of fate I’ve left my refrigerator at home, so I’m unable to shield myself from the blast or, more importantly, enjoy a cool beverage. Learning from my mistake, I navigate deeper into the temple. There are multiple paths to take, all of them deadly of course, and they provide several opportunities to reach the goal or, in my case, several opportunities to become a horribly mutilated corpse. I turn the next corner and gaze at an ominous incline. Glancing upwards I spy a group of golf balls resting suspiciously close to the edge. I decide to tempt fate and run like a screaming maniac up the hill. Surprisingly the balls tumble down towards me, so I expertly jump, and dive, and wall climb, and pirouette, and somersault, and cartwheel, and finally land gracefully on the ground unscathed. Unfortunately I’ve done all this before the balls have even made it halfway down the hill. I stand there, completely exhausted, and proceed to be crushed a thousand times over by the deadliest display of golf equipment known to man. The finishing blow complete, I am no longer part of this mortal coil and my journey, for now, is over…Oh yeah, and then a decrepit old mummy totally appears out of nowhere and tea-bags my rotting carcass for no apparent reason (I warned you it would end this way!). That may be the end of my story, but I've merely scratched the surface. Perhaps you will fare better. Download the map (and gametype) to discover a new breed of adventure puzzle: The Kingdom of Ra! I thank the gods that you're a journalist, buddha. I'm not normally a big player of puzzle maps, but I know awesome when I see it. Shad0w Viper showed me this not too long ago, and he giggled like a schoolgirl at my terrible puzzle skills (it's pretty sad that I kept trying to attempt the same things over and over, hoping that I would just get lucky. I blame old age). Congrats on the feature; it truly shines.
Great map to mess with. Love these things. Fun for days as long as you have a friend. Congratulations Aftershock!
WELLLL Worthy of a feature, Me and Shad0wviper were doing this puzzle a few weeks back and it kept us well entertained for a good 3 hours. This map's puzzles are not to hard but not to easy so its a perfect map for a decent puzzle completer. Nice job
Oh god Shad0w Viper loved this map enough to go. Hey Tz check out this map and thus fun ensued when I was like ooooo this looks cool. Anywho I stumbled inside of the giant temple only to be killed by an explosive trigger. I am the Simon Cowell of judging maps and I hate many many maps. Shad0w was trying to let me figuire it out for myself, but I kept bugging him and doing silly things trying to make him die. This map is good and if you don't like it, play it with me so I can kill you with the temple. I like to be devious . Anyways let's keep this short, Tz, because we all know how you like to ramble on.
Hilarious write up, awesome feature. I had absolutely no doubt that this map would get up here eventually ever since I first saw it during a test. You guys made a good call, it's both extremely fun to play, and easy on the eyes. And who doesn't love getting greeted in the face by fusion coil?
glad to see this is a feature , me and a couple friends played around with this for a couple hours great fun 5/5. hope u have another one coming soon.. great job
Must've missed this when it was released. Nevertheless I will give it a download. Great writeup Buddha and congrats on the feature Aftershock 10.
My thoughts exactly. Excellent writeup, excellent map. 'gratz on the new rank, Buddha. Well deserved.
Everyone loves these kind of maps, or just watching someone get owned by a random object. This map looks very cool
LOL, I think you found your perfect role on forgehub Buddah, that was pretty good bro. Anyway, Im not a huge fan of the puzzle maps because I suck and dont have the patience to get through it, but this does look awesome. Ill check it out anyway, the forging looks wonderful. Gratz on the feature man. Edit: I guess your not cool unless you say something about Shadow viper in this thread huh? LOL!
Buddha that was the best write up ive seen in a long time :L But onto the map it was a perfect puzzle which annoyed the hell outta me for a good few hours, but I couldnt quit, it was too good. Perfect map writen by the perfect guy
Thanks for all the good feedback guys, it's really good to see that you guys like it. If any of my maps were to get featured, i'm glad that it's this one .
W00T I just beat it in 27 minutes and 1 second, lol. I feel so accomplished because that's the first puzzle map I've beaten without a tutorial. NEW TIME ABOUT 23 MINUTES NEWER TIME 16 MINUTES 30 SECONDS ^It took that long to solve it, but it took an extra four minutes to get lucky enough for the teleporters to send me to the right place, lol. NEWEST TIME YET 14 MINUTES My suggestion: aAftershock, could you make a seperate teleporter for the oddball room?
Sarge Edit: Don't be disrespectful. anyway, glad to see a new feature. It's been waay to long. Hopefully we can get back into the old routine of a feature ~every week. not a big fan of puzzle maps, so I don't think I'll try it. But congratz aftershock.
