That thread produced the most anger and was filled with bias, stereotypes, and the least credible statements with both sides making up bullshit and insulting each other. Worst thread in forgehub history was the "God" thread
I am neither shocked nor sad by this decision. I rarely used the debate forum and when I did go on all I did was have a look a what pointless "debates" (flame wars) were going on. Good riddance, maybe it can possibly be replaced by something more worthwhile?
Honestly, of all threads that one seems painfully horrible...but I suppose if people are interested in it....will do so when we remove the section. Possibly. Not when it moves to General Chat....it will then be under the normal Gen Chat rules.
I have enjoyed the debates section, although I can see why the discrepancies it is causing are reason enough to shut it down. The unity of the community, hey that was awesome rhymage, is more important than a forum section based outside of the sites general purpose.
i think the warp speed is it possible debate should be moved. some nerd will bring that up again eventually. and the legalization of drugs debate.... how many stoners play halo? that'd be brought up again
DO NOT move the inanimate object thread. Delete it. Purge it. Get rid of it forever. I was thinking a little while ago that the debates forum should be changed to intelligent discussion, allowing a wider range of topics. Then I realized that we had general chat. But can someone provide a link to a couple of decent debate forums?
I would say get rid of it. This is a Halo/Forge web site. The debates were not really debates. It was moslty people trying to sound smarter than they actually are. It had no real place and was just a distraction from what the site is really about.
This is sad news, to me at least. There have been times when I have actually learned things and expanded my mind from various conversations in various threads. Obviously they can't all be winners, but the debates forum has had it's shining moments. But... whatever. I don't post here nearly as much as I want to, one reason is that it does get stupid here a bit too easily. I would appreciate it if you preserved this thread in GC. It's not all just people stating their opinion, although I'm sure there are a few entire pages of just that. I've had some great conversations in it, I still keep an eye on it. edit: | | V NO U!!

I have only posted in the debate fourm... I am very sad of its removal, and btw, as I believe debating is about opinions. Opinions that are backed up by facts...
It's not a matter of wheather or not it was appropriate or not. This is a matter of how people went about debating. However some of the rules were a bit poorly constructed, considering that this is something that we do for fun and not a school assignment(as far as the siting our sources...). But many should have been followed, and would have EASILY been followed, such rules like; Flaming, turning off sigs, most of you here have been attacking the person that presents the idea instead of the idea itself, and I will not criticize grammar mainly because... Well, yall knowz y... <.< >.>
I agree with Predicide. I don't understand how the staff or Insane can quantify how a forum doesn't turn out, according to their expecations. We were a forging site, and at the moment it just seems like we are a social site. Theres nothing formal in that whatsoever, so i don't understand how you want to remove something because it doesn't reach the highest of expectations. You have off-topic which is full of nonsense, and you generally come out with nonesnese, which later turn into quotes for your fans to shout at you. It's truly ironic that you enter this thread with a facade of disappointment like it's your bastard child.
