Im not sure if this the right place for this but.. I was using a credit card on my account then my mom canceled it. After I was getting messages from xbox and it was saying there was a problem with my account and that i needed to change my payment option or update my account. I ignored it, kept on getting the same message, then it said my account has been suspended and i need to use a different payment option or update it. Ive heard from some other people that they're accounts have been banned from gold permanantly because of something having to do with theyre credit cards. Will this happen to me? Will my account be permanatly banned? Or will I just have to go out and buy a one month and put it on this account or something and it will let me be gold again?
What happens is your account is indefinitely banned from Xbox Live until you add a new credit card. An alternative if you don't want to use a credit card would be to go buy a 1, 3, or 12 month code and call Microsoft. Explain the situation to them, and they will temporarily lift the suspension for you to enter your code. If they don't cooperate, tell them you're just tired of Microsoft's policies and product quality, and that you're just going to buy a PS3 and not buy their products anymore. That worked for me.
just go buy a card and redeem code, it should be fine. this happened to me when I changed banks, it won't let you change payment options when you're account is suspended.... its a big loop. or at least thats the problem I've had. if you buy a 1 month card (or for whatever length of time) and redeem the code it should be fine. don't sweat
Yeah, the same thing happen to me in January. My renewal date is always the 22nd of January, my sister canceled her credit card before the date and Xbox live was sending me messages like crazy. In Febuary(did I spell that right?), about 2 weeks ago, they suspended my account until I have updated my card. I just added a new credit card, not sure if it was charged or not...
It won't let you enter the code if your account is already suspended. You actually have to call Microsoft so they can lift the suspension for you to enter the code.
