Everyone's been betrayed in Halo, or other games. There are times its accidental, times when you're not quite sure what happened... then there are those times that its downright malicious. I'm wondering how many people retaliate, because I know I do. Example - I see a teammate pick up a sniper rifle I was going for. I turn around to head in another direction, when I see another teammate BRing him, and I shotgun him in the back. Hilarious? justified? sinking to their level? I know this one will probably get closed by I'm curious to hear some good betray the betrayer stories.
This definantly is not a debate. It is a question, and should be moved to either halo discussion or off topic. Probably off topic. Mods move plox?
If your going to do it, do it in a way that isn't obvious that you're intentionally betraying them. It sucks when you betray someone due to them killing you for a weapon and the get booted from the game. The two ways I've found to be rather interesting are: 1) Shoot them but don't kill them and hopefully they will betray you again. Then DAS BOOT! Its rather entertaining to do that, although potentially hurts your team as well due to them being a teamate down now. 2) I tried this once. A couple of friends and I were playing MM online and my friend was killed for the Spartan lasar by a teamate. Therefore retaliation was in order. Instead of the straight forward shooting them to death I waited until they were charging the lasar and then stepped infront of them as the fired. Not only did the resulting shot kill me the backlash also killed them. Cue a long respawn due to death and betrayal times. If you going to do it, do it with a bit of style.
On narrows, run into them, jump onto ring at bottom of the map, instant betrayal! Just make sure you haven't been shot by the enemies in that life.
It depends. If it was an honest mistake (he runs me over in the Warthog as I jump in front of him to snipe someone) then I won't boot or betray. If the douche is pissed cause I stole his precious Sniper (MAAAAAAI PRECHUS!) then I'll do whatever I can to piss him off and get him booted.
Personally I thinks its downright disgustingly hilarious even if it is sinking to their level. But anyways I hate it when I try to play infection for the DB XP weekend people keep on purposely jumping in front of me when I'm killing a zombie then the boot me. So the moral of this post is anybody who purposely gets betrayed (not the way you guys are talking about, talking about when somebody purposely jumps in front of you when you're killing somebody.) and then boots like in infection is most likely pre-puberty.
Nothing I hate more than an intentional betrayer especially if its for a weapon. The worst however is getting hit by a team of betrayers that want a vehicle like a warthog for an objectives game. Those guys can count on some serious retaliation. I mean I will Rocket or Laze those x@%*^ on the way back with the flag if I have to but I will get my revenge.
Yeah it's stupid when they want the sniper or something and they'll shoot you or grenade you just to get it. I'm sorry that my route to sniper on the pit is faster than yours, get over it. Sometimes people like Insane54 like to stand next to me and if i get hit by the enemy, he might try to finish me off for the sniper, I wouldn't betray the person back unless I knew them and knew they wouldn't boot me if given the option. The thing that really ticks me off is when i'm playing and i'll get a completely innocent betrayal on someone who runs over one of my tripmines, and I get booted. Sometimes people boot after unintentional betrayals because they're dumbasses, if I accidentally betray you, and you're in a game like team slayer, YOU DON'T BOOT!!! If you do, you've just put yourself at a huge disadvantage. Team slayer is just one example, in objective games the handicap can cost you the game. But it's the price I pay to play the game
Halo has a terrible booting system in my opinion. Since I mostly drive warthogs in Big team social, I get tons of noobs who do not know to get out of the way and step in front of my warthog when I'm trying to avoid them. When I acedentally betray one person this way I immediatly get booted, but when other people betray me I never get booted.
I agree, I am a wheelman myself... I hate when you accidentally betray someone cause they don't look both ways. its the same as crossing the street, dumbass the trip mine also pisses me off, for that reason i don't use them except when the target is near and I KNOW FOR SURE that an enemy will hit it first
Win. Anyways: The number of times you get betrayed by someone should vary depending on the weapons used. So if someone betrays you with something like a tank or rockets, it would be like 2 or 3, but if it were weaker and the person did 90-100% of the damage with a pistol or AR, then they could be booted immediately or something.
I have 751 total betrayals, most of which are with a mongoose I reckon. I have been counter-betrayed at least once for nearly all of my betrayals.
Betraying is always stupid, but sometimes I do it when someone else starts shooting me first. What annoys me is when idiots start shooting you because you "took their weapon."
