I'm in the process of designing a new map. What I'd like to do is use a wraith as a scenery object, and not have it usable. The map needs to be compatible with standard gametypes, so I can't just set vehicle use to "no." Is there any way to disable the use of a vehicle within the actual map?

You could always have blown up Wraith, just have fusion coils drop at start.

I'd prefer something a little more subtle, if possible

Well, you could always pin it down using ghost-merged tube ramps. If you'd want to have it without pins on the ground, you'd have to geomerge tin cups into the ground underneath the Wraith.

Players can still use the turret and the cannon on the wraith then.

Have it flipped so people can't use it but use objects to hold it down so that players can't flip it right side up.

I think the best solution to your problem is to Ghost Merge Shield Doors around a Wraith. If you do this carefully enough it shouldn't be too noticeable since both objects are Blue in color . As well as securing the Wraith in place, these Shield doors will also block any and all projectiles shot from the Wraith and more than likely assist in their suicide lol. If you are having troubles with this try setting the Wraith to NOT spawn at the start giving you a solid 3 minutes to Merge the Shield Doors. If you forgot where the Wraith was after setting it to NOT spawn at start- place respawn points as markers to Identify the Wraiths location.

Besides that- the only way to completely turn an object to "no" is by modding the map itself- which is risky and bannable.

    Best of luck bro

    I'd prefer it right-side-up, but that's a good idea

That's not bad. I'll give that a try. Thanks.

I like the tin cups Idea. You could then face it in a direction that wouldn't be advantages for anyone in the turret or gunner positions.

Note: The more Tin cups you use the stronger the magnetism. You can ghost merge them right on top of each other under the map.

no. with where I'm putting it, it would be advantageous no matter which way it faces. I could use tin cups and block the turrets with a shield door. That seems like the bast idea so far.

Tin cups will make it stationary and most vehicles have a place where an object can naturally be merged to block firing. You should be able to place a small wedge in the main turret assembly which will keep it from firing yet not be visible. The same sort of thing may work for the plasma cannon. This works because the top of a wraith works similarly to the turret of a warthog in terms of merging.

Put a wall over the cannon and turret.

I like the idea of having fusion coils blow it up. then you have a different looking bit of wreckage every time! kinda cool. i dunno, you might want to try it at least. I'm working on a death star trench map for one bomb, you just gave me an awesome idea for wraiths as stationary artillery pieces.... thanks!!!

Ghost merge tin cups underneath the map, and have the wraith not upright. That way it wont be able to work, yet it also wont move.

Ghost merging is really finicky beneath the crypt so the tin cups might be a problem to merge. He also stated that he wants the wraith to be upright. Read the thread including comments before you post.
