Well, I know it's not much. It was on the Reach Dev Blog. Just wondered what you amazerifically talented Forge Hubbers had to say.
Link to the dev blog? We need some context here. edit: Did some googling and ****, and found this: http://www.nobleactual.com/post/384514925/luke-smith-says-indian-ocean-present-day-i Some of these guys are freaking bananas, they make up the most idiotic theories ever.
The most interesting theory I've seen is that because there are pirates sailing the Indian Ocean that it implies that we'll be fighting Insurrectionists.
Well, we have to fight insurrectionists. It would be cool if the starting training level was when you were just a teenager and just got your armor. Then about a quarter of the Campaign is spent fighting insurrectionists (because lots of people say that COD is better than Halo because in COD you kill terrorists and in Halo you kill aliens), then the Covenant show up, you have an epic first engagment with the Covenant on a remote planet, then you get shipped out to Reach to defend the planet. That would be cool.
In morse code, if you change the vowels to dashes and the constanants to dots, or vie versa, you get four letters, the last letter is either an "R" or a "K", not much to go on, but something I realized in studyhall. Maybe there is a pattern here or somthing.
Words have meaning not letters. Being on human lands and before other halo games, reach should have structures closer to present day than other halo maps (likely in an attempt to mimic CoD). It may also mean that battles on ships will be more prevalent. New Mombasa also happens to be on the Indian Ocean.
I was merely suggesting an opportunity for a hidden message. I'll let it slide, because im still pumped that canada won
The letter based stuff is actually possible, especially if the mesage were typed. Hidden typed mesages tend to have meaning in the letters by some math based code while spoken ones have the meaning in words. Either way, we just seem to be guessing here.
I think the biggest clues to reach can be found hacking the terminals in the halo 3 campaign and downloading information in the ODST Campaign. Bungie went out of their way to make us read that **** and most of it tried to explain how it all started. If reach is gonna be a prequel I believe this is the most revealing for info. I think other revealing clues might be in the form of Halos multiplayer levels. Blackout and its Oil Rig, Longshore and its Aircraft Carriers in the ocean, Avalanche and the Broken Ice Shelf due to Cooling towers. What do all these levels have in common? They are all settings where Humans have negative effects on the environment. Especially note the Aircraft Carriers next to "Longshore" They have yet to be included in any campaign. Could it be possible your just some scrub marine swabbing the decks when the **** hits the fan? It would tie the ocean into the plot and be a great setting to Start a Campaign as you can watch the chaos ensue yet be relatively helpless to the cause. The Carrier I would imagine would have all the amenities of a Frigate including a 'training area' and obviously a fleet of Aircraft/SpaceCraft to follow the campaign into space. And where the **** did Fronk come from? Is it possible this Aircraft Carrier is acutally an Illegal Whaling Vessel hunting Fronks for Research and selling the remains as "Fish Tacos". Maybe that would explain why the Covenant initially attacked the humans- because they were trying to intervene in the Destruction of our planet. Also note the landing of Covenant forces in the Wildlife Reserve in ODST Campaign. Why an animal reserve? Why dead animals everywhere. Is this an easter egg or a hint of things to come... Best theory I got anyway, mostly because it would overshadow real world issues and give the players an insightful look past there Xbox Controller to a cause they can relate with, just like MW2 did with Terrorists Halo might do with Global Industrialization. Just something to think about- I could be way off
new translations with morse code. vowles=dots, constanants=dashes; W U R W K K W K vowles=dashes, constanants=dots; D G K D R R D R still not much, but possibly another step closer to a super sweet secret?
