    Question:

If I import my Mass Effect 1 character to Mass Effect 2 (which means I am also importing the story based on my previous decisions, right?), will I still be able to choose a different class if I was a Soldier, for instance, in the first Mass Effect?

And, if I do choose a different class than the one I had in the first, will my Mass Effect 1 story still be imported?

    Thanks.

Yes, you can change the class and even the appearance of your character. I don't wanna give too much away.

I heard that if your Shepard dies in the final mission, he/she dies permanently and wont be able to be imported into ME3, even if you reloaded the game to a previously saved game... True or False?

True, it's been confirmed by Bioware, when you attempt to load that game for ME3 it will just show a funeral for Shephard.

But I'm sure you can reload your character and try again if you want to lol.

    Well that sucks...

Whenever there are games where there is a chance that my teammates may die permanently (Fire Emblem, Halo, yes I said Halo. I hate seeing my fellow marines die), I go out of my way to protect them as much as possible. Now I have to work even harder just so that the Main character doesn't die as well... damn it...

I had a huge dilemma when I had to choose who would die in ME1, Ashley or Kaiden. I spent almost an hour deciding. I search the pornonet, i mean internet to see if I could save them both. In the end I picked Kaiden... *sob*

I usually favor the female characters anyway... Thats why my Shepard is a female...

It's not that difficult to keep Shepard alive, actually he's/she's the easiest person to keep alive. The difficult part is keeping your whole squad alive which requires a lot of time and effort, but really in the end it is well worth it.

So as long as you make correct choices (which is fairly obvious, word of advice, use specialists for the final missions, not hybrids), then you should be fine.

Okay, great advice. Now all i have to do is actually get the game and reach the final mission and put all the I have learned to the test...

If it doesn't go as plan, then I think I'll start a new game...

One last question, if a squad member dies in the final mission, will he/she die permanently and won't be available in ME3, even if you reload a previously saved game too?

Does anybody have or knows a good guide for the final mission that will keep both Sheperd and teammates alive?

Alright, save games mean nothing when importing for play in ME3. Everytime you reload your save and complete the final mission, a file will be made which you cannot access. I completed the first game three times but had about seven playthroughs available for import simply because I liked playing the very end of the game and reloaded my later saves a few times.

So, if you complete the game, a squad member dies, you reload, that member lives, you will have two playthroughs for import in ME3, one where they lived and one where they died.

Also, it's literally impossible for your Shepard to die if you recruit all 11 squadmates. It may even be as low as 8 or 9, actually.

I haven't play the game yet and I am curious on how Sheperd and his teammates die.

What determines their fate? How many teammates you have? Level? Equipment?
or is it you die in actual gameplay?

I seriously gotta get this game! I need to know how this works...

Oh one last question, i was reading some friends ME2 achievements and notice something that said you can customize your armor? Do you actually customize the N7 armor or something? or is it another type of armor? Do you customize anything at all?

Sorry for asking so many questions, Im just too excited and I really can't wait to get the game later on this week...

Personally, I'd stop looking in this thread, especially trying to figure out how the get everyone to stay alive. Wait for it, enjoy the game....after you're done on your first play through, I don't see any reason not to look at guides to keeping everyone alive and such....but until then, you're really just hurting your enjoyment of the first play through.

It doesn't really bother me if I know what's going to happen in the game. You can "tell" me about the game, but as long as i don't "see" what happens then is okay...

I just want to make sure I do everything right my first try, so when I do play again, I could play how i want. Your way is cool too...

Shihuru, go. Play the ending of the game. Don't come back until you have.
Mass Effect isn't one of those games where you can just say "Oh yeah, this guy dies." There is much more complex story, etc., that we can't explain. As well, there is so many things that happens throughout the game, ANYTHING could happen to your teammates.

Its not that just if you make this guy go here that it will work. There is a giant amount of right solutions.

I am sorry for repeating myself, but I really want some views on this.

    Vanguard - Solider - Sentinel

Which is the best among the three? Why?

Soldier. Because Vanguards and Sentinels are useless against those YMIR mechs: and on insane..... well. They are so ****ing hard, and having all the ammo types helps, slightly.

If you're playing on normal, I highly suggest Vanguard. Normal is easy enough that you can actually play a Vanguard like they are meant to be played: Getting up close with your shotgun and risking everything to take out enemies as fast as possible. It's a lot of fun, and if you're good you can actually use it on higher difficulties.

To make this decision even more difficult for you, do Sentinel. While it may seem tough and annoying at the lower levels, once you pass level 15, the game just starts kicking ass, Sentinels are devastating at that point beyond, not to mention there special ability rocks.

After that choosing a team can be easy, since you can have a lot more power hitters, since you already cover destroying barriers and shields.
