Mini Vender DOWNLOAD HERE About This Switch: This is yet another vender switch. The best part about it is that it's quite compact, therefore it's easy to place within any map. The mechanism within the switch isn't too advanced but works for it's purpose. There is a weapon being held by an upside-down weapon holder within the vender. On top of this weapon holder sites a fusion coil. To obtain the weapon inside all the player bust to is set off the fusion coil by throwing a plasma grenade into the opening on top of the vender. Pictures: SIZE OF VENDER (SMALL): INTER-WORKINGS OF THE VENDER: WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS: INSERT GRENADE INTO OPENING: EXPLOSION DISPENSES THE WEAPON: WEAPON IS READY TO BE PICKED-UP: *Note that this switch will work for any weapon or equipment*
Kid youve done it again another fantastic switch. Great to see you've made it compact. I COULD forge around this with permission OFC. great work 5*
Thanks for the 5*'s man And all my switches are open to you guys. Feel free to modify them, build with them, remake them, and even show them off to your friends
Ching Chong, try putting fusion coils for your switches outside map geometry. This will make them indestructible from grenades. Then you can make your switches without grenade activation, making them much cleaner.
Well to make it work outside of map geometry it would use more of the budget and objects. Plus the main attribute of this vender is how compact it is. Therefore, grenade activation, although rudimentary, is the best in this situation.
Just curious: Why couldn't anybody just walk up and grab the weapon themselves rather than waste a grenade? Lol, jk. This could work for just about any aesthetic map or maybe even a machinima piece. Way to go. Not gonna download for obvious reasons (Easy to build myself, and serves as the purpose of a grenade eater.) Otherwise, I'd give it a 5/5 as a contraption.
It's so cute! This is one of the simplest vendors I have ever seen. Great job minimizing resources and size.
I'm pretty sure this is a stupid question, but like the other guy said, surely you can walk up and take it anyway? other than that great switch, loving your work
The weapon starts in a position where it cannot be picked up (due to the position of the doors) so the vender must be activated to get the weapon.
See, I agree with you there, but where is the point where you took too much away. Look at cars for example. You could get the crappiest, cheapest, most simple car out there. Or would you spend a little money and get a halfway decent one? You need to find that balance. With a weapon holder, grav-lift, CP, and mancannon (using regen as the activation instead of a grenade, so it doesn't count). I just made an unbreakable version of your switch. So only 4 more objects, and roughly $20 of budget, your switch is so much better.
Does you version use the regen to blow up a grav lift out side the map and spawn another grav lift in the vender that dispenses the weapon? If so yours is only a one time use switch. Anyway, I appreciate your input. It helps me review my switches and hopefully make the better next time.
Man, you are simply amazing. Your website is incredible, the switches are incredible and your tutorials are so easy to understand. Great work! 5/5 4 EVERYTHING YOU HAVE MADE
Cool beans Coyote, you still are a switch kinda guy. I actually like yours more than mine, is that weird XD
Don't worry, it is multi-use. I hate all others. Now, onto the trigger. What we will have is a grav lift holding the weapon at the top of a tube. In order for grav-lift to be destroyed, a fusion coil would need to explode. That is where this trigger comes in: (instead of a fence wall, it used map geometry). Throw a regen and the fusion coil will separate: Pick up the CP, the switch will reset. (Pick it up a few seconds after use). Setup: CP spawn at start: NO. Make the respawn of the CP LONGER or equal to the fusion coil. That's all you need. (you can also turn the Mancannon 180* so that the fusion coil will be moved into it, then hit the adjacent foundry wall, also where the Grav-lift is.
HOW DARE YOU MAKE A VENDER MORE COMPACTED THEN MINE. jk You should know who this is CCK. You toke my fusion coil idea man. Cant believe I didn't think of it on top on the item
im pretty sure this switch is well known. theres like a thread dedicated to them or something. the only reason i like your switches i because of the aesthetics, this is lacking them... make them look cool and ill be impressed. im gonna have to give it 3/5 because theres easier ways to set up the power core or w.e its called to make the switch more reliable when using grenades other than plasma. i think this is the thread there may be an advanced one aswell... idk
You're right, this switch is pretty basic. And I agree with you that the aesthetics on this switch arent top notch, but it's efficiency is since it uses very little space and objects. Most of my other switches are mostly aesthetic but lack efficiency. A switches is rated based on four things; - Aesthetics: Its overall appearance - Efficiency: How well it uses space/objects - Functionality: How reliable it is - Purpose: What it actually accomplishes And no offense, but Rusty Eagle isn't very knowledgeable about switches. Plus his switches aren't that great either ); In that tutorial he names "Torpedo Switches" and "Delay Switches" which aren't even a types of switches and "Instance Switches" which are actually Min/Max Switches.
Thanks I was looking for an empty foundry map and this is perfect. I'm making an infection map and I'm just leaving this in because, well.. It's awesome ha thanks dude!
