Do you think its OK for bungie to charge you for "bungie pro" when you are an xbox live gold paying member ? Do you think Bungie should make "Film Rendering" Free ? Why isn't "Film Rendering" Free ? I think its fine, its a choice people have to make, I personally have never paid for it and only got it for about a month each time I bought a map pack. Sure its nice to have extra spots but its not necessary, therefore it is something they can charge extra for. In all actuality its nice that they let us use filehares at all for free.
Yes it is fair. Bungie went through the extra time and effort to make the rendering process and they are still giving 5 minutes away for free every month(for bungie pro members). Would you rather them take away fileshares and rendering away altogether just to make it more fair?
Sure; why not? Bungie Pro significantly increases file sharing space and Bungie needs to someway to pay for the file storage. Also, what does having an Xbox Live Gold Membership have to do with this? Xbox Live doesn't share its Gold Membership profits with Bungie. Sure, it would be rather convenient if Bungie's Halo 3 film rendering was free, but Bungie still needs somewhere to store the files. By the way, storage isn't free and Bungie still needs to somehow collect proceeds from render minutes and Bungie Pro in order to pay for the storage, though the majority of the proceeds are profit. They don't make you do anything; you don't have to use Bungie's film rendering nor Bungie Pro. If you need to get a Halo 3 recording onto your computer, purchase a capture device.

Of course its alright for them charge for Bungie Pro. Its an augment to their game, and its not required. They can most certainly charge for it. An annual charge of a little more than 10 bucks is perfectly legitimate. And their render service is free for Bungie Pro members. Its important to remember that render minutes were not an original component of the Bungie Pro package. BP was established long before rendering videos ever came to BNet. Bungie added the render service for the community, and even offered 5 free minutes to BP members. Additionally, the render minutes that you can buy are ridiculously cheap, and come in bulk. ridiculously cheap. The magnitude of the deal Bungie is offering with this service is staggering, really.
I think 800 microsoft points should give it to you permanently. That's why I don't buy it, and i'm sure lots of other gamers have the same opinion.
If you are more of a forger, you almost NEED the extra space unless you have multiple accounts. Plus the renders really help with vids. But I think that if you don't forge much or if you don't forge at all than I don't think it is necessary to buy it unless you want to put a bunch of screenshots or video clips in.
