By now im guessing that most of you watched "AVATAR" and to be honest i don't see why everyone makes such a big deal about the film. I have actualy sceen it myslef and i just thought it was a long film with a bad plot. Yet most (not all) of my friends and everyone lese around me keep saying how awesome it is and keep saying its the best thing ever.
What do you think about the film?
    Discuse.

The people that don't like it are the ones offended by the morels in the film. I enjoyed it alot, I didn't get to see it in 3D because it was booked out but I watched in 2D still.

If you see it you HAVE to see it in 3D.

The CGI and 3D effects are amazing. But that's about it.

Plot Sucks, very predictable and cliche.. Acting is average.

    6/10

I have to agree with that. They spent a lot of time on the CGI and effects to make it look spectacular, and utilized the 3D very well, but the storyline was meh. But, i still thoroughly enjoyed it, and i can't wait till 3D TV's come along so i can watch it at home :p.

That's a gross generalization. Now, I still haven't seen it, and I know it is taboo for me to have an opinion, but I don't like it because I am a dialog-oriented person, and this movie (judging by trailers and reviews alone mind you) is not down my alley. That's why I loved every "drawn out" moment of Inglorious Basterds and other films like it. I enjoy unique perspectives, and while one could argue that this is a unique way to tell the morals it does, I would disagree because there have been many movies in the past to do so in a similar manner. Appreciate the visuals, there is nothing wrong with that, but people like me are not so easily wooed because our entertainment tastes are different.

    Damn that good? ;l

I was stereotyping the general displeased audience of this film, but the majority who don't enjoy it are the ones that do not like the morals in it.

Trailers are action packed, they are meant to entise you to see the film. I also like dialog orientated parts of films because its refreshing to see it compared to "Shoot to kill, that's life jim but not as you know it". I'd see this one just so you can review it totally because it is really stunning.

I was in awe in 2D at the enviroments they made and I can't imagine what it would be like in 3D. I may go see it again.

Also you don't need 3D TV's to see a 3D film. Its the way they render it, you just need the glasses. 3D tv's are designed to make normal TV 3D as well and their not that good at it.. atm ;p

Plot is exactly the same as Pocahuntas, Fern Gully and Dances with wolves. It's pretty though.

This happens to every good movie, where people say "Oh its soooo great you HAVE to see it!" but this is getting blown even farther out of proportion because of James Cameron.

If you havn't seen it don't jump to conclusions, It really didn't appeal to me but because of all the great reviews I thought I might check it out, plus I wanted to go to imax. Indeed, the plot was predictable but the characters were believable and lovable. CGI was anything short of amazing and as the 2 hours went on I forgot I was watching a film. Indeed it has its flaws but not every movie ends with a cinema full of applause.

Effects are great, but you have to see it in 3D.

It's grossly over-rated, and the story isn't very good. Really predictable. The effects are amazing, if only the story was as good.

First off, you really need to learn to spell. Download a web browser with spell check. You know like something other than Internet Explorer.

    The short answer is yes.

Ok the movie was a little predictable, but I never really had a moment where I was taken out of the world. Everything made sense (well some of the characters did not, but I mean the world itself did). Yes there are better stories out there, but this was by no means a bad movie. You should go see it in 3D before it leaves theaters.

Oh and you may be interested in this.

I personally did not like it. Why? Because the plot was a rip off of those movies about Native Americans and Europeans like Dances With Wolves, and the special effects were pretty though but that's not the kind of film I see for special effects. I see extremely action orientated movies like Babylon A.D. and Death Race for explosions and death. It didn't suit my tastes on either side of the movie spectrum and thus I found it to be pretty bad and a waste of $6.50.

Avatar was the most amazing thing I'v ever seen. I live in a small city too so I didn't even half to preorder a ticket for 3D until the day before opening day. So I got to see w=one of the greatest movies ever in opening day in 3D. Don't know why you don't like it

Well, I saw it in 3d (first 3d movie ive ever seen) and I beleive it was worth seeing, the visuals are absolutely stunning and in general it is realistic so that is why most people think that the story is predictable... thats because were used to cyborg people taking out legions of aliens on a ring planet made by another alien race, then unleashing yet another alien race that will eat everything that lives.

I think we all have been numbed by the unrealistic nature of most media these days.

Yes, I realize that it is a sci-fi movie so it cant seem like real life, but it does such a good job that it almost convices you it could eventually be real.

Based on my experience, I thought the movie was well worth my money. Hell, I even watched it twice, one in 2D and the other in 3D.

Here are my overall thoughts of Avatar:
    - Amazing effects
    - Fair but not great storyline
    - I expected something better due to the several ads.
