I'm trying to find a map I saw a while ago on Sandbox in the Crypt where it was a whole bunch of Double Blocks but they would be in a different pattern every time you played the map... As in they would change positions every round.
No it's possible you just set down a whole bunch of items, set most of them them respawn at start: no then set the run time maximum amount of that object that can be on the map at one time then set the run time minimum to whatever you want.
Yeah, it's possible. There was a Foundry map called Dynamo that did that, but I never saw one on Sandbox, sorry. I'll look though.
Its definitely possibly on Sandbox as well. Its possible on any map in fact. I don't know which specific map you are referring to though. and shame oh you shaddo.. youve played on me and Dev's TB map on Sandbox, yes? Then you HAVE seen a sandbox map that uses randomization.
Were you looking for this? Or AZN FTW's version here? (sorry for the XF link, it isn't posted on FH) AZN FTW came up with this technique over 6 months ago. You set the objects to 180 and "no." When you set a certain number to spawn they will be random. In order to increase randomness, place the objects during different forge sessions (i.e. save and quit). If you place them all in one round, the first one placed in a round takes priority over other objects and would be more likely to spawn first.
That's interesting. I wonder if the same applies to Oddball (or other objective items) spawns. I've been using the default objective spawns on the Sandbox Canvas and the oddball always spawns in the same place. So is this the same idea as the Avalanche box colouring (where you can place boxes, then selecting it in a new round is considered replacing it so it can change colour)? If so, that may have just solved problems I've always had. I currently have 3 oddball spawns, 3 different places, all equal distances from both teams but the ball always spawns on the same one. I'll try it out now, thanks very much for the info!
That would be interesting DMM. I haven't tested it with objectives, but I used this information (placing them in the same round) for resettable min/max switches and placing them in different sessions for weapon randomization for a zombie map I am making.
I was saying that I haven't seen a map like the one he is talking about on Sandbox. I know it is possible. Although, I didn't realize that your map used randomization. I searched for like 30 minutes using several keywords with no luck. But it would seem that coyote found it. That is depressing.
It did. The broken columns that spawn just outside the mongoose base drop spawn randomly every 45 seconds I believe. Every 45 seconds you should see a different combination of blocks out there. Dynamic map FTW. That map didnt get near the love it should have lol. Anyway, since you've finally found the map you've been looking for, this seems resolved. I'm gonna give it a lock.
