Simply enough what is it? Ive seen banners for it being in matchmaking, I've seen many maps for it and I still have no idea what it is. Ive seen maps with flags in them but I thought it was a territories game. Anyone care to explain?
In short , a conquest map, is essentially just a line. The rule of conquest is that there can't be divergent paths, so for example, you can have a U shaped map, a team starts at either end, and tries to conquer as many territories as they can. Which leads them to eventually push forward into the other team's base. Conquest is the territory gametype it's played with.
Its a territory gamestyle, which both teams start on opposite sides of a map, which have a linear path (Meaning they go only one way). Each team will try to control as many flags as they can on the map. The map itself is fully symmetrical and have an even number of Flags. Hope that helps
If I may just add a short note to what others have said before, try to think of it as a tug-o-war except your pushing forward rather than pulling back.
Actually both of these are incorrect. The map can be asymmetrical, but needs to play equally from each side. They usually are symmetrical and they need an odd amount of flags. Even amounts are no-nos.
