Because if xbox 360 didn't need alot of hack testing or to be made unhack-able it would have came out earlier and same with the games, they could be made faster for the same reason so our gaming would be at like 2015 by now...
    Not if anymore?
Also I want the best equipment ever! When you use it, it summons a :monitor: for 1 min that you can use to obliterate your enemy (It can only pick up stuff and it can't see spawns). I guess that would be a bit over powered and lagy though. :(

ok, I got the best idea ever!
addable level effects (like the gate on high ground) but have like really big things.
    Some examples:
    - volcano, you can guess what that does :p
    - open dam gates :O
    - turn off all lights in the map making it very hard to see (indoor map)
    - turn on a huge fan that now blocks a parth (you could walk though before)
Anyway, you see where I'm going with this....
This will probably be to hard to add to forge but it could be in some normal maps!

I would say that ocean's already made perfect squared in areas. Being able to forge in a different way like in the sim's to make perfect angles. Being able to automatically merge stuff into others.

Like almost every other forger who is so creative that Halo 3's Forge just doesn't do it for ya sometimes, I want an exact replica of Far Cry 2's Map Creator mode. I do not want another Map Editor mode in Halo: Reach, and hopefully Bungie knows that. Although I don't think sending them an Email will help. Just let them decide on there own. The odds that Bungie will actualy open your Email and read it are slim to none.

Far Cry 2 allowed players to create maps in a way that let us get creative with things. There were about one-thousand things we could customize in Far Cry 2, and each of them had a size, color, etc... To it. We could create dips, hills, buildings, castles, ladders, trees, and anything else that came to mind. A remake of that one Lord of The Rings castle is an excellent example of what Far Cry 2's Map Creator mode allowed players to do.

Race track maps would be re-defined, with natural dips and turns, rather than linear blocks simple fused together. Competitive maps would make players "Oooh!" and "Aaahhh!" as they experienced the spell-binding gameplay that kept us playing Blood Gulch, and Coagulation. Infection maps would frighten players, as they dared turning another corner. And aesthetic maps, well, I'm sure you get the picture. The fact is that... What the hell. Why am I still talking... Here's a list of what I want:
    • Every object, detail, option, etc... From Far Cry 2
    • Different themed sections for objects, such as spooky, or ancient
    • A radio type object that allows the editor to record a message with his headset, and then play that during the game as a "Press X to Activate" function.
    • Allow the map creator to set the exact number when changing the spawn time, or any other setting of an object
    • Much more gametype editing options
    • This isn't really a forge thing, but the infected in Infection should look like the Flood... Get it right this time, please Bungie!
Basicaly, take Far Cry 2's game mode, give it a Halo theme, and you've got one helluva happy customer on your hands Bungie!

Far cry 2 maps look much different and play different than halo maps. The maps are more open world aren't they and in halo, there is a lot more height variation.?

I say keep forge the same but have an auto merge, auto interlock, set the object at an angle, undo, and bigger budget with more objects. That would be fine.

    1. Lego. It would be awesome and make alot of people happy. Forging would be funner and longer because players would have to put block by block down.
    2. Dropships. Like pelicans and Phantoms. Big Team Slayer would be epic.
    3. Terrain tools. So you can raise and lower terrain.
    4. Restaurants. So people can eat while their on the go. Killing people and seeing their guts can make me very hungry.

Far Cry 2's campaign was open world, and it's multiplayer had maps of different sizes. Although mostly large, they compare to maps like Sandtrap and Sandbox... So Reach could handle it.

but there wouldn't be any, I don't know how to say it really, maps like damnation and construct. I guess we could say technical maps. The only maps would be nature maps. Do you get what I'm saying or should I explain it better?

My entire post was about nature maps... That's all that Far Cry 2 had. And there are buildings and structures on Reach, so those can be included. None of my post was regarding maps like Damnation and Construct... Did you read anything in the Game Informer article? The game's gonna be darker, bloodier, stealtheir, and bigger. The maps are gonna be biger, and I'm not going to be surprised if the Matchmaking servers allow larger groups of people to play at once.

I get what you're saying, but do you get what I'm saying?

I would have to go with Dimmest on this one, I really dont want another Far Cry 2 editor. Sure, it was great and all, but as it was said, all that would be made is natural maps. In halo 3's forge, you can actually make technical maps, constructing each building to your likings, where in Far Cry, theres a preset of objects and buildings.. etc.

    Ehh.

Oh... That's what Dimmest meant. Now it kinda makes sense... But when you think of Reach, you don't really think of technical maps... Reach is nature. It's not gonna be like Halo 3, where Bungie can just make all the multiplayer maps exist on different Halo's and planets. This is just Reach... So the environment will most likely stay the same, besides the ever growing destruction caused by the covenant...

I dunno... I'm not sure I even like most of the technical maps built with forge now... Hehe...

EDIT: just saw your post. Apparently I need to ask other people to convey my thoughts. Remember as well though, not all maps have to be on reach. Think of halo 3. Not all of those maps are on earth or the ark (a lot are though).

Seems you have covered almost everything. Just one little option I would like the see is the ability to select an object, press a button and then all other of its kind will be high lighted with waypoints above (useful for finding those stray spawn areas, bomb points, etc on your canvas map)

I think that it would be great to have a Symmetrical button. Before you forge the map, you select what type of symmetry you want, then you are given a dotted line that you can draw straight across the map, whatever you place on one side will automatically reflect onto the other side of the dotted line, and vice versa.

I also think that i would be great to have the undo button too. That would help tremendously.

Being able to hold a button and copy MULTIPLE items and paste them would be awesome too.

ONLY THING IS, bungie is already 3/4through making this game, they can't have any HUGE changes at all, they are sticking with what they thought up during early production.

Yes have a symmetry option, create a kine where you want to have it equal on both sides. Make forging soooooooooooooooo much easier.
