Welcome to the fileshare adoption thread. Ill explain what it is... Lot's of people don't have enough room for maps to be in their fileshare, especially if they do not have bungie pro. The idea of this thread is for people to put their spare gold accounts fileshare up for adoption for a permanant place to keep peoples maps. Users obv don't give out their email and password, all they have to do is post the dates that people can adopt their fileshare, how many spaces and how many spaces per person etc.. I beleive this will give less broken links and will just be a good deed to help others, so without messing around heres what you need to do. Copy and paste according to your post. Fileshare for adoption Please update your post as spaces get used, availible is the current amount left and max is the maximum you originally posted. Looking to adopt a fileshare (If none currently up for adoption) Please do not harrass someone if they wont let you put your map in their fileshare, it is at their discression whether or not they do. Most likely they will not let you if your map is bad or if they do not like you. Please note that they are doing this as a favour and if they do remove your map for whatever reason, do not moan, just simply contact someone else! To adopt a fileshare, simply PM the user who is putting the fileshare up for adoption and sort it out with them. Get adopting!
I am quite sure that a file need not remain in the fileshare for then download link to be maintained. I have placed maps (and gametypes) in my fileshare for only long enough to link as nessecary to forgehub posts then remove it and the link remains open.
Do you have it in a file set? If it's not on a file set, it shouldn't still work to link it. If it's not on a fileset, Bungie cleans out any files that aren't on fileshares every once in a while, so I'd recommend keeping everything on some sort of fileshare. Myself, I just created a free one month account that came with my xbox and stored 6 older maps on that fileshare so I could have more room on my main account's fileshare.
No you don't need it to be in a file set. I don't know what the exact specifications are but once your vile has been viewed or downloaded or something its saved on bungie.net regardless of whether its still in your fileshare or not.
