for those who arnt in the know Parkour is a means of transport over, through and around objects (other may know this as free running) The gametype I made was to revolutionize jump maps as many are single line and single route (which can get boring). I myself am a basic jumper, I can late jump and crouch jump and thats about it. and I can get to all destinations, so no worries for those who arnt pro jumpers. The gametype involves no damage other than assassinations (which are allowed but give you no points) for all, and Vip destinations to score points. Grenades can be placed and you start with the default no regeneration. let me know of any bugs, its been tested but V2 and so on may be needed. The Map Itself only works with the gametype, but try it out Parkour House This map was made in the mind of "everywhere leads to everywhere" and that holds true in this map, with many jumps to get to many places, with the hint of worry that an assassin is around the corner. I'll let the pics do the talking: The Start Heres a random assortment of destinations, they will appear in random order, and are randomly chosen in-game and heres why there grenades in the game: now I'm not a great pic taker, but just take a look around and you'll see all the jumps around, theres more than just in those pics. And the interior is also full of jumps, but its fairly hard for me to take pictures of it... It seems like an odd game but try it before you condemn it, It turns out its pretty fun (this is based off of opinions from many testers) download in Title and here... Map: Parkour House Gametype: Jump This is For those interested in Making Your Own: Just to add on a related note, If people wish they can make their own parkour map (i'm assuming it'll be called a jump map though, but i feel its too unique for that) I know Youtuber is looking at his own one which I've looked at and helped him improve (it even has a set of jumps in it I put in his but not mine :O) *sobs* bless his little heart for wait for me to be ready to post mine first... and I also have a Giant castle (named Parkastle - get it?) only rules; same gametype (message me if you're map needs it tweaking i'll see if there's ways around it), I get some form of recognition and about £2 royalty... ok you can leave the royalty out... enjoy, i look forward to feedback, Happy Forging
Wow, personally I love parkour and freerunning, and I love how you took freerunning into halo. The map looks good except for a few little problems unless they are there on perpose. some of the parts of the building have cracks on them which can be fixed quite easily. the overall map looks good, could be better, may suggest that you take a look at ghost merging? i look forward to any other maps done by u on this subject. u got a dl from me.
Yeah I made this pre-ghost merge and it really makes no difference with no damage/ everyones jumping all the time, i thought the important part was the jumps were achievable though, and no one cares when its like "OMG I WAS LIEK THIS CLOSE TO BEATING YOU THERE!!!!!" and i thought to post now for others to use the gametype and youtuber was begging for the release
This is a really good minigame concept. I can't believe I never thought of making a parkour game like this. Oh well; I guess I'm just too caught up making really complicated things. Congratulations there, sir. The sloppiness of the map adds to the amount of jumps available, which is always good. I will have to make one myself, with credit to you of course. I'm thinking skybubble.
Oh snaps! I was gonna do a parkour style game like this but it was in the skybox and everyone would be FAT. You made the map well by making multiple different way to get to place. The house design of the map is pretty cool too.
lol get served. anyways, amazing idea. hot damn! im pretty suer im gonna have to embark on a parkour map adventure now. whatever that means. thnks! as for the map though need tiddying up sam.
ha ha I like how not advanved this jump map is. they get so hard and so... advanced it makes me wanna toss the controller across the room. not to mention most of them are in the goddam skybubble so you die all the time. Nice job on a jump map I can actually accomplish =P
Thanks for all the positive thoughts guys, I'm really hoping many will make maps, as its a jump map which is easy to do and a bit more competitive than the linear jump maps i'm looking forward to playing other peoples creations . Just so you know theres no rule on if you're allowed complicated jumps or not, just make sure you mention how to do and special jumps and stuff... maybe a longer yet easier way up to the point also? then pros and newbies can all enjoy
I found a way out of the map in the first picture. You can jump on the barricade to the right, then jump on the double block. Original idea, which is what Forgehub needs right about now, good job. Looks fun. Like Rocket Race, but without the Mongoose and the rockets.
I played a couple games on the map, and as I said, the game is a great concept. The map, however had several qualities I did not like. First of all, there are only four destinations (or at least only four popped up in all the time I was playing it), which makes for very repetitive gameplay. The other main problem I had was that, with three or so of the destinations, you are very limited in the ways you can actually reach them. It would have been better to make multiple paths to the destinations themselves (at least three or four, not two) rather than having multiple ways of getting to the place or two you have to be to actually get there.
thats a very valid point, I admit the map isnt as sound as the gametype but i'm working on another one currently, hopefully it'll work better. But I myself have found repetitiveness being a problem. do you mean the fact its 3 rounds long, or during one round do you find it repetitive? yes but what would be the point?
This is actually a very fun map, if you know where to jump and spin around and such. After a few games, I got used to it and was able to have a lot of fun on it. Oh, and Moran, I will probably Toast mine by 2morow. I added a few more jumps, and just a general aesthetic look to it.
I really enjoy the Parkour maps. I liked yours as well. But you have a lot more space to work with and i would enjoy more than 5 possible objective points. But good job anyway
