meh. i'm not a fan of its inaccuracy. You can't aim down the sights. You pretty much spray bullets. also, its slower to switch to.
No...it's an attachment, not a different weapon. It switches faster, it has longer range, but less damage. Still, it can kill in one hit if you're close enough. Don't be stupid and try to kill some guy twenty feet away.
Actually, it's faster to switch to it than a secondary (save handguns.) I only use it with my Anti-Air/Thumper Classes. That way I can have a secondary Launcher and a Shotgun for close quarters. Scavenger also helps with it as well. Most of the time, I carry a Deagle secondary for nostalgia purposes.
not a bad idea for those classes, but it will never substitute for the insane range and instant kill of the SPAS.
Since you keep going on about the awesomeness of the SPAs, Hari. Can you explain to me how you deal with the moment after shooting where you can't knife? Every single time I've used the SPAS, I lose in CQB against more then one person. I've just switched to the Masterkey or the AA-12 for my shotguns 'cause of the general lameness of the SPAS is those situations.
Keep a moderate distance. Don't let them get close enough to knife. Have cover. What i like to do is keep popping in and out of a doorway. Take out one each time. Or, if they conveniently line up for you, your shot can kill 2 or even 3 people at once. The pump doesnt take very long and ive never had problems with CQB, ever.
Yeah, personally i think the SPAS sucks compared to the other shotguns. If your going to argue that the spas has more range then any other shotgun I think its a pretty lame point. If you 20 feet away from a guy why not just use your normal gun? Shotguns are meant to be used in close combat. The AA-12 is great for when your sitting behind a wall or if your flashed, and the striker has a large clip for running and gunning. To me, the SPAS is too slow, and if you miss your one shot/dont kill the enemy in that one shot (which happens about 25% of the time) then your dead.
In that case, what's the point of using it with anything but Snipers/Riot Shield? My AR will do the job effectively. SMGs are made for that and LMGs are just bullet hoses so eventually people will get hit, sooner rather then later with the accuracy on those things. With that in mind, pistols with Tac Knife are better then the SPAS for CQB. I would go with the AA-12 or Striker make those things have way too little range for most areas in the game, although they do complement my Marathon and Assault class very nicely.
The reason I use the AA-12 and the Striker (both of which have very little range) is due to the fact that my Tar, or whatever gun im using, can do the job of hitting the opponent just fine at any distance. The only reason i have a shotgun equipped is for camping when i need to, or when im in a small room. If I wanted to have a gun with range I would choose a AR, SMG, or sniper, im not going to take a chance and run around with the SPAS trying to kill people that are really far away.
i use tac knife M9. works pretty well. it gets beat by shotguns,but the switch is superfast and the tacknife can get a lot ofsuper CQB kills
After I prestige, I'll start using pistols instead of shotguns. Or at least for the first few levels.
Well, I want that tac knife. I'll use pistols until I get the tac knife, then switch back to shotguns or launchers.
"Slow and steady win the race" Don't run n gun. It's just much more effective if you think about your decisions cautiously rather than just doing something without a adequate reason behind it. If you want to get better, than you have to make more logical decisions and act upon them swiftly.
Camping FTL. I'll run and gun constantly, get bombloads of XP, come out with a relatively positive K/D, etc. etc, but when people are waiting up in some building for most of a game aiming down their sights, waiting for a player to come around a corner, that isn't really fun gameplay, and it doesn't get them very far very quickly either.
Being you, I don't doubt that. Just saying I'm very against those that sit upstairs somewhere with their M16 aiming down holographics the whole game with claymores planted.
