Just reading through some posts and looking at random maps and a random idea hit me.

Now I know I've already made an Asset map and its still requires fixes here and there, but I dont think I've seen any Asset maps entirely based on Aerial Assaults?

My idea is fairly simple. The ODSTs have to holdout on an Aircraft pad. They have two Anti Air Guns (merged in Gauss Warthogs), a Missle-Pod and little cover.

The 'Brutes' will have access to Banshees from the start (hopefully they can have 4... not sure on object limit) which will provide enough firepower for the 'Brutes' to keep the pressure on.

Initially, I want this to play like the mission on H3: ODST where you fight of waves of infantry and banshees atop of the tower until finally a brute chieftan comes (could be possible to migrate into the game aswell).

The escape hornet, will be on a 5 minute drop so it can provide a nice lengthly game.

    Any possible suggestions?

Just because you've already made an asset map doesn't mean you can't make another one and still revise the one you have made.
    Personally I encourage it.
The NMPD rooftop fight was my favorite thing in ODST.
But It shouldn't be entirely aerial.
Like make it so that a cheiftain on foot pops up here and there.
Otherwise, I think it could be pulled off pretty well.

guys don't give up...just know what your up against. IT is a good idea and you should see it out. They may give up or you could gauge in helping them forge it. PM them ...talk this is Forge discussion discuss don't get discouraged.

The turret is a good idea but i would limit it to LRV's not the Gauss cannons. I also like to see Rif's Pelican crashed into the map... tis be epic if some one pulled that off.

aye but too many of the same type of map makes all of them boring and not original which is what people complain at in Asset.. I think im gonna explore the gametype and see what holes i can fill with it...

These are literally indestructible and the only way to kill the user is to hijack him, or a headshot I think (if you have just the turret sticking out). No other methods can kill it and it's also extremely overpowering.

I do not entirely agree with this.
In most games a gauss turret is just thrown onto the map which makes it overpowering. Although you may not like this for your map, most FX's (gloomy for nighttime) drastically reduce the range of the gauss cannons. When a banshee is flying normally it is nearly invisible halfway across skybubble; however, when it boosts or fires its position becomes obvious although it is still mostly not visible. In addition, Gauss turrets can be placed with some aesthetic blockage to the lines of sight which allows another aircraft to sneak up. The stationary gunner is always extremely vulnerable to headshots, and I recall (from playing dogfight) explosives like rockets, fuel rods, and banshee bombs are also effective.

I tried to incoporate this into my asset map but the asset hid in it and was indestructable.

if the Asset can only get in the passenger seat, how was he able to hide in the Gauss Turret?

being in the passenger of the hog would put him inside the object it's merged with.

Why put the vehicle in a block when you can just use walls and teleporters to brace it in place?

The reason is so it looks like the turrets that are in H3:ODST. It also would prevent the asset from entering the vehicle.

In response to the Warthog being overpowerful. You people are underestimating the Banshees plasma cannon power. I made a map a long time ago with stationary gauss hogs and banshees and the banshees completely dominated the map. It takes a banshee to kill the Gauss gunner approx 2 seconds.. where as it takes at least 3 direct gauss hits for the gunner to kill the banshee.

The idea behind this is the Banshees respawn rate will be 30s. The Gauss hogs will have NO Respawn rate. This will make the aerial battle tilt dramatically towards the attackers. After a minute or so, an "event" will occur, which will tilt the upperhand back towards the defenders. This could potentially be a mixture of Escort Asset and Holdout Asset.

But the Asset can get in and be invincible if the warthog is in a block.

which is why a spin off will be made to prevent this.. And if merged properly.. the Asset shouldnt be able to get into the hog at all anyway..
