Hey guys, I got MW2 although im pretty nub like so I dont really know much about it. If i were to prestige I know I have to get my guns and stuff all of over again but do I still get to keep my titles and what not?
You will keep your titles and emblems and stats (like play time, accuracy, etc), and that's it. All guns, progress (in anything other than Prestige Challenges, which you obviously don't have yet), and such, will be erased.
Some challenges carry over. I think the prestige challenges carry over (obviously) and some select others. I know there was an article around here...try the call of duty wikia.
Prestige Mode - The Call of Duty Wiki - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 2, characters, and more Pros Once the player enters Prestige Mode for the first time in Modern Warfare 2, they will be rewarded with a sixth custom class slot. The same occurs at every odd prestige level, so a total of five additional custom class slots can be unlocked by Prestige Level 9. In addition, any earned titles and emblems obtained before entering Prestige Mode are not lost. You will get some Prestige Challenges to level up faster and get some new Callsigns. Cons If a player enters Prestige Mode in Modern Warfare 2, all unlocked weapons, killstreaks, perks and challenges will be reset. The challenges unlocked through Prestige for each gun, however, persist to the next Prestige level (the kills and headshots for each gun's Mastery and Veteran challenges do not reset). This exception also applies to the challenges in the Prestige category that deal with killstreaks (getting a certain number of kills with a specific killstreak reward). Titles, emblems, and accolades are also unaffected.
I still dont understand? instead of just mastering it by unlocking all the attatchments before prestiging, there is more?
after you prestige, you get 2 new challenges per gun, as well as an entire new section of challenges, all slightly highlited in yellow, that don't reset when you prestige again. You lose everything else besides titles and emblems.
Well thanks guys, i have already gone into first prestige! So just to make sure though all of the titles i earn through prestige will not reset and disappear if i prestige again?
The titles, emblems, and accolades do not reset once you prestige. I guess this thread served it's purpose now.
