Is it even possible?

    My idea is to have a temple-like map on sandbox, with a crashed pelican on one side and the temple on the other, but the idea for the gametype was to have 3 teams, the marines, the flood and the sentinels, but also have the flood and the marines trying to capture a territory/hill/location,and give all the teams different traits, and make a map that works with 3 teams using completely different weapons. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks. And if someone can tell me any way of making this work, that would also help.

    I really dont think It would be possible. 2 teams would start off with the same weapons no matter what. I don't know If you used classes It might possibly work. But Im saying in a VIP gametype. Would you mind if i experimented with this idea.

    Ok then maybe ill make both the flood and the marines the same, but have the sentinels different, but even then I'm not sure how to do that. What do you mean classes? You can experiment with it, if you can make a gametype better than mine, then id love to use it. But ive still got to work out how to make the map work

    This would be the tricky part, but I think I know how you could go about doing this.

    Firstly, your best chance is VIP. There is definitely no way you could have it so all teams spawn with different traits, as the most amount of different traits you can have people in any game type spawn and keep is two. To do this, you would need to have it be one-sided VIP. Have whichever team you want to have a VIP set to defenders. For now, I'll assume that the marines will be the defenders. Set how you want the VIP's traits firstly(could be a spartan, officer, ect), then do the VIP team traits. That will be the marines. Then, do maybe the flood. Go to general settings and change it to however you want the flood to be. The problem is, those traits will also carry off to the sentinels. To fix this, have the sentinels go through teleporters whenever they respawn, but have custom powerups set to instant respawn in front of the teleporters. Although the custom powerup only lasts at the most 90 seconds, it will give you something that resembles 3 teams.

    Now if you want the sentinels and flood to be able to pick up weapons at start but not later on in the game to give more variety, just change the respawn traits.

    When you're making the map itself, make sure you have the human team's spawn points(set to defenders) spawn somewhere, the flood's respawn points(set to attackers) spawn somewhere else, and the sentinels spawn points(set to another team) spawn elsewhere. Since you want three different teams, make sure that you have three different teams when you're actually playing the map.
