Thanks! Nearly everything in my maps geomerged or at least merged so that's prbaly why it flickers so easily. That's great that you can't see it in customs When counter-merging do you have to not be host? I've tried it when I was host and also in local but whenever I go under the map I die within a few seconds. Could I be doing something wrong?
how do i change the lighting on objects in the crypt of sandbox? cause some of my objects are dark and others are light and it doesnt look good. how could i get them to be dark or light when i am placing them
Ya i've noticed that to. Maybe you can keep deleting and spawning that object until it is what you want it. Same thing with the tube colors on longshore and rats nest.
yea ill try that. but i also have the problem where they just randomly change and then stay like that
From my experience, they stay like that in forge games, it's rare that it has odd lighting when you take it into custom games. So if you see an oddly colored block, take it into customs and see if it's still colored like that.
Hello, I do not own any halo game and I'm wondering what is worth Forge in comparison with the mapmakers from Timesplitters Future Perfect and Far Cry 2. What are the good points? the weak points? Is there a place where I can see the different features of the editor? I looked at several maps on youtube, and they looked pretty poor. in another hand there seem to be decent maps here. What do I need to have all the options of the editor? Only halo 3? do I need expansions? do I need halo ODST? btw, I remember there was a far cry 2 forum here (but I think it was pretty dead) but I can't find it anymore, where is it?
I'm making a map and almost done but i had a budget glitched map. So i want to remove the lasers . But i have no idea how to come to the lasers. Well comprimise in Timesplitters & Farcry 2. halo 3 sucks alot. Because Farcry2 is very advanced. And timesplitters is just easy to set up and what you can do with timesplitters is alot better. So if you mean for forging don;t buy halo 3 if you except something like farcry2 / timesplitters. Personally I think the halo 3 forge is very crappy. But halo 3 itself is in my opinion the best game on xbox 360 you can do whatever you want so well i suggest you to buy halo3 But if you only want it for multiplayer i would recommend you to buy Halo:ODST.
First off, you can't really compare the map editor in halo to either Farcry2 or Timesplitters. I own both Halo and Farcry, and can say they are completley different. Halo 3's editor is more like an object placer, letting you create different levels and such, but not so much actual environments. FarCry2 on the other hand allows you to create entire levels as you like them. One of the main problems I had with the farcry editor was its complexicity, and it gets very annoying when trying to do certain things. Also, you can't really tweak everything to your likings like you can do in Halo 3. For you second question, I have this answer: To have all available maps and expansions, whatever for Halo 3, you need to go ahead and buy ODST, it includes the ODST disk, and also the Mythic Halo Disk, which contains every Halo 3 map made to date. Finally, yeah, the Farcry forum died here along time ago, and locked because we are mainly a Halo based community. For your final decision, I suggest buying Halo 3, because it still has a great community, and unless you're the type of person who likes creating vast landscapes, Halo 3 Forge Mode is 100 times better. Also, Farcry 2 online gameplay sucks.
I'm not too sure if this is answered already. Only read the first few posts. But is there a way to make a resettable min/max switch for an elevator. I've searched it up on a few sites and on forgehub but no luck for an answer. Basically I wanna use the flipping ghost tech to knock over fusion coils and blow up grav lift to spawn in another under the elevator. And I ALREADY DO have this. Now how do I make it resettable so that I can have the player raise up or bring down the elevator when he wants to.
I'm not afraid by complexity, I bought far cry 2 mainly for the editor and spent days on each of my maps, I would still play halo campaign, but I'm more interested in trying my own maps online. I also like seeing what other people build, but on timesplitters 3 and far cry 2, 99% of maps suck (that being said, I've still downloaded a few hundreds good far cry 2 maps) One problem on far cry 2 is there isn't many people playing and it's not easy to make them come on your own maps. Do you encounter that problem on halo? And are there a lots of people hosting maps which have no interest for gameplay? Moreover I can't play online so often (a few hours per week) The type of maps I usually make are small indoor or urban maps (well, as big as you can make them on timesplitters, but really small compared to all those huge far cry 2 maps) I mostly use the landscape tools to build the scenery of the map, not much for the playable area. Btw, how are the players on Halo? Far cry 2 is filled with noobs. In another hand there seem to be many halo players braging about their skills. Should I expect to get my ass kicked by a lots of nolifes, or to crush a lots of 12 years old noobs?
There are plenty of people who would play with you. That said, it's better to get a bunch of people you know or who are from FH rather than invite random people from Matchmaking. You probably won't find anybody on Matchmaking looking to play a custom game, but there are some people that do. As for the players, there are a lot of 10 year olds screaming into the mic and yelling. It really isn't a huge issue though. You might get one annoying person in each game you have, but that's what the mute button is for. There are also a lot of cool people too, so don't think everybody is annoying. To be straight forward, if you have little experience with Halo you will get your ass kicked. It's a popular game, so it has many skilled players. There are also many noobs though, so you shouldn't have too much trouble. It doesn't take long to get the hang of it. Within a few weeks you should be able to go positive each game and eventually you may become one of thsoe skilled players.
