Alpha Site Forge Hub Favs by RedNeck and dargie1 Click on the pictures below to download the map and gametype. Description Alpha Site is loosely based off of the ONI Alpha Site mission in Halo 3: ODST's campaign. With a few differences in gameplay and aesthetics dargie and I have crafted this map into just the dream we had imagined it. Alpha Site's gametype, Tolls Accepted, is a territories-based gametype. The objective is for the attacker's to reach the other end of the bridge while fending off the UNSC, who are trying to protect the bridge from capture. There are three territories the attackers must capture in order to win the round. One being closest to their base, two in the middle, and the third closest to the UNSC base. As you progress down the bridge the attackers will begin to spawn closer and closer to the bridge, then eventually on. To aid in the covenant assault a wraith, beam rifle, and grav hammer will spawn for the attackers base. The wraith, being imprisoned to its own base, can provide support for the bridge to help thin the UNSC forces on the bridge and the beam rifle will aid in taking out the various UNSC power-weapon-holders. The grav hammer is available if you want some extra fire power while on the bridge. To aid in the UNSC defense, a sniper rifle, spartan laser, and machine gun turret will spawn. Using the machine gun turret for on-bridge enemies, the sniper rifle for on-bridge enemies as well as the beam rifle, and the spartan laser to take care of the wraith should provide a good defense for the bridge, if you're smart with them. Team work is also a very important aspect of gameplay. A good team with experienced players and great communication will dominate the match compared to a team with incompetent players. While on the covenant side, calling out people for the wraith to take out and using the beam rifle to kill specific power weapon holders your team mates have called out for you will impact your teams performance greatly. For the UNSC side, focusing all power weapons on the bridge after the spartan laser has killed the wraith and the sniper rifle has rid the beam rifle will definitely improve your experience on the game. If you notice, the covenant side has its weapons set up to mainly effect the bridge from an on-bridge stand point, the forward line if you will. While the UNSC have longer range weapons that work effectively from an off-bridge perch. This was set-up to portray the classic rule that the attackers are always at the disadvantage and must mobilize everything they have, while the defense set up permanent nests to perch them utop a perfect view-point. On the contrary, the covenant have been given the advantage with the set of power weapons they are presented with, but only if they use them correctly. After Superintendent In celebration of finally completing our first co-forging project, which has been quite a success in our opinions, dargie and I celebratorily destroyed our map as the Superintendent (and the ODSTs) did to the bridge in order to stop the covenant from acquiring important information from the ONI headquarters in New Mombasa. The Alpha Site Build-it-Yourself Kit About three quarters of the way through this map, dargie was experimenting with something related to the machine gun turret. Well, in doing so he lost a weapon holder, we where under the impression it had fallen to the dunes. Using red and blue lights, dargie and I spent the next hour and a half looking for this weapon holder while dodging the ruthless Towers guarding Sandbox. Long story short, we never could find it. While destroying the map, look what we stumbled across. A needle in a Hay Stack. Action Shots Encase You Missed It Click on the pictures below to download the map and gametype. Special Thanks I'd like to give thanks to many people for helping dargie and I along the toilsome path this map has bestowed upon us. Some of the more important where Shock Theta, Insane54, and Roche178(kind of) for smacking some sense into us by telling us to work the map into a mini-game instead of a boring competitive map. GO43R for coming up with the kick-ass name for the gametype. ToKeN for making the banner and the download icons, and I'm passionately in love with this kid...I don't know why (no ****). Archangel990 and Project990 for doing the video, you truly are quite the ingenious producer. Just about my entire friends list for helping me test and providing feedback whenever I needed it. Oh, and I can't forget the Testers Guild, y'all are truly a magnificent group and I'm very impressed at how you guys followed through and delivered without question anything I wanted, when ever I wanted. Thanks guys. ~Love, RedNeck
This looks like one of the best territories game and map ive ever seen. This was by far my favorite mission in ODST and you made an absolute perfect remake. Ill have to give this a 9.5/10 because of the effort and execution of the map. Fantastic Job!
It was a fun game to play, but while I was testing, I seem to remember getting sniped out of the tower while I had the laser... And that person in the pictures that you took has the same armor as me.... For that reason only you get 9/10, I don't like people showing off how bad I am! I'll be looking forward to playing on Alpha Site and any other maps you make.
This map has come a long, long way and has made many changes that have only been beneficial to the map. Having tested this multiple times, I know how much fun it truly is not just because the territories game works extremely well but it is unique and a whole lot fun to play. I've always loved this map and I hope I'm in one of those pics!
Why thank you kind sir. Haha. I'm sure that was like your only death while testing. Thanks, I really enjoyed making this map and playing with y'all while testing, I'm hoping to start testing another map in a bit. And I'll bet you're in at least one, but hopefully not in the fashion Dewski is.
yeah the weapon holder was sorta a big deal for us through the development of the map, we hit the item limit and needed to remove anything that was unnecessary... so a lot of searching went into that weapon holder lol
wow this map does look amazing, uncanny resemblance to the original map. well done to you and your team. Also that must have been so frustrating losing the weapon holder, i have lost objects so many times (especially movable ones) and it just goes to show your determination and drive. wish i was a patient as you some times. well done again. its given me some great ideas for some of my maps.
+ Faced paced teamwork gameplay! + Almost an exact replica of the bridge, minus the water and all that. + It has a wraith! - The covenant spawn with the same weapons as the ODSTs which takes away from the experience a bit. Score: 8.5/10
yay!, i made the bridge and Ryan made the bases... and we really couldn't change the weapons that you spawn with...
Yeah I know, I didnt factor that into the score to much. Its funny Halo 3 is so limitless yet limited at the same time lol.
Personally I dont like this, I think its unorignal because everyone make ODST remakes, why not just play ODST? Really did not have fun even looking at the map...
Well number one in ODST you can only have 4 friends playing, number 2 you dont get to play as covenant.
To be honest, this is exactly the thought I had when dargie presented me with the idea. However, can you name one good remake of an ODST map or campaign mission, or even the ONI bridge? There really isn't a well made and fun ODST remake out there yet, making this the first of its kind. That is...if you think its fun and well made, but I like to think it is... for my personal pleasure.
Forgetting the whole ODST/Covenant roleplay i think this map is really well put together and well thought out. Looks like some good team play will be needed for this. You have my DL will be a good laugh.
