Thank God someone made a thread for this recently, I was just going to make one. I'm also purchasing a headset for Christmas, and have been wondering which one to get. I turn to Forgehub in need, and seeing Insane's knowledge on the subject, I think I'm saved. Price is not an issue, and I've been leaning towards Astros. I've been debating back and forth with A40s, and TB X41s, and keep coming to a pitfall. Everyone says good things about both, and I'm really bothered on which one to buy. Are the Astros worth it, or should I stick with TB? I feel that since Trittons are cheaper this makes the quality a little worse, but that's just a stupid opinion of my own. What do you suggest out of the three, Astro A40/ Turtle Beach X41/ Tritton AX PRO? Thanks.
To me, TB seems to be the shittiest on the market. Most reviewers say astros/trittons are way better. My problem now is deciding between a40s or ax pros. I like the look of a40s and I heard they are more comfortable. I also can't find a site that actually looks legit and has ax pros in stock to ship to Canada. It seems Canadian best buy doesn't stock them.
Bear in mind you can get 5% off on Astros before 31st December. You can buy directly from their site, too - they have US and UK sites, so they may well have a Canadian one also.
Yeah, alot of reviewers praise the A40s, but at the same time there's a large community of people who praise TB. I wish I could only try them out for myself, but I can't even think of one person I know who even knew there were gaming headsets. I guess in the end I'm just going to have to stick with my gut instinct. I think I'll just stick with the Astros, especially with the 5%.
Right guys currently there is like nowere selling the Tritton axpro's and I have found a nice little amazon sell for the x41's but it says madcatz in the title but the seller is TurtleBeach, Huh? Newho the astros are basicly easy to find. So out of the 3 what would you say is best? I want the headset to still work on my PC, I know the AXPRO'S do but I dont know about the x41's can someone let me know ASAP? Also do you think it would be worthwhile making a thread all about headsets? So people like me can get the best headset for their price range?
At least here, they sell Trittons and Turtle Beaches at Best Buy. You can also get em here: Tritton AX Pro Gaming Headset I don't think the X41's work on the PC, and there's way too many variables to say which one is "best". I think I've fairly effectively described the advantages and disadvantages of each of them earlier in the thread. In general, I wouldn't listen to most reviews, because they generally claim to know what they're talking about and don't. Especially people who have only used one or two headsets, or even none, before. That's why you hear a good amount of "My Turtle Beach X1/X31s are so good!". They're decent if you can't afford anything else, good entry-level, but nowhere near a real surround sound (AX Pros or any PC headset) or decent simulated experience (X41s or A40s)
Okay I understand you pointed out the bets points but I would like your personal opinion on the best if possible. Ive got the $200 for the x41's but you seem to be putting it down a bit and is simulated as good as the true surround sound? Allso that braggamerrights is sold-out as such is pretty much every website excluding the ones that dont ship to UK O.O :l Lol Also does the AXPRO come with uk 3 pin plug and 2 pin or would I have to buy a cheap adapter from US to Uk?
I don't think I could go back to simulated anymore, I use the AX Pro and love it. But simulated is decent. As for the UK pin, I wouldn't know. You'll have to ask someone who uses it in the UK (Roche).
Okay thanks for all your advice and everyone elses, I will be ordering the TB X41's tonight for £159, I would have got the ax pro's but nowhere is selling, its out of stock absolutley everywhere It should arrive for christmas.
