Hey guys I'm here to show you all a new map. Its a joint project between King Artur 11 (who as some of you may know is a great forger) and myself. This is just a preview, were not giving too much away yet but the map is nearly done and will be up for testing soon. The screenshots dont really do it justice anyway, you really have to be in the map to appreciate the awesomeness. Its a small map, ideal for slayer and other FFA gametypes. Screenshots: Geometric: (12/14/09) that doesn't look all that specoal yet does it? Lolwut? Hax? No, the entire map is built at a 45 degree slant. It is a remake of the map Leaning Tower which was originally designed and built entirely by me. The map has recieved several gameply changes along with a huge visual overhall. And these next few screenshots are of the original map so you can see the differences. Original Map: just for comparison The name "Geometric" is subject to change if anyone has any suggestions, we didnt want to just call it "Leaning Tower 2" or anything. We will be showing more of this map soon!
great another confusing map... couldn't stop on foundry could ya... just kidding i love it but how many rooms is it ... it's hard to tell for me... is it one big room or different rooms i can't wait to download though great job
hey!! , i have played this before, i downloaded it outta somebodys fileshare... the name was i think either ''leaning tower'' or ''cube'' , im pretty sure it was either of those 2 , this map is cool , one of the better maps based on this i played , 4/5
If you played this before it was leaning tower Im glad you guys like it. Its just one elongated room but with plenty of obstacles to break up the sightlines. The lighter screenshots are from the original version, dont get them confused! And yes, we are almost done.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Buddhacrane's is featured too so I bet this map will get a lot of comments like what meltyourtv said. I like how it's on Sandbox though. Maybe not recreated, but it's definitely the same idea. Just so you know OP, you aren't the first to do a map that's tilted at 45 degrees. Fair warning.
What ^he^ said. Anyway that wap looks really good so far although I don't know if I could play on it much, these types of maps give me headaches.
I personally am happy over another map that is like Distortion... I loved that map, and this looks like it will have significantly different game play than Distortion. I'll be happy to have another tilted map to play on, I can't wait until it comes out.
Who cares if someone thought of the idea first? Feel free to work off of his idea, as long as you're not stealing his stuff
Yes I realize I wasn't the first to do a slanted map. I have played Distortion and while there are some similarities between these two maps, they are quite different. First of all Distortion is... distorted, there's stuff upside down ands built to look distorted. The premise of this map was to take a tower, tilt it, and then make changes to account for the ability to walk up walls. There are obviously a few similarities between this and distortion, but this map looks and plays entirely differently and is quite unique We will possibly be updating with more screenshots today, we will also start testing soon.
I actually played an older version of this, and I was very impressed. One thing that made it unique was how high the tower goes, not just in diagonal height but vertical height as well. Some pillars take you really high up the structure. Keep at it, I can't wait to see the newer version.

I remember Distortion made me a bit dizzy during gameplay, it was very confusing. I'd love to see more distorted and twisted maps. Sandbox is great because you can make a new floor and completely block the view outside the map to improve the illusion of being in a twisted map. That was a bit trickier in Foundry because the floor looked different to any of the objects and its tricky to completely enclose the map. I had ideas for maps set on beached ships so the decks inside would be at funny angles for some varied gameplay, but that was before Sandbox and I couldn't get it to work very well on Foundry.
I was wondering whether Buddha was going to make a Distortion on Sandbox and he said he had thoughts of it. I'd consider adding more than one room.
You'll find that having only one room not only works great but makes the map a bit less confusing than Distortion. It also helps set the map apart.
I've been waiting for one of these for forever! I was going to make my own on Sandbox after I got tired of Distortion but I'll just download this instead
Hey, everyone i'm king arthur 11, glad you guys are liking the pics that psychoduck put up. We're going to be putting it up for testing soon, so hopefully we'll get enough people. After its up for testing, depending if people find any problems, we'll be putting it up quick. Gah! The motion sickness returns! I mean the old one was a great, fun map to play on, and this one looks awesome too, but I need to lay down everytime I play on it....
