So the number 53,595... what's special about it? And what does it have to do with zombies? I mean, Left 4 Dead had the achievement for killing that many zombies, and they had it wrote on the walls everywhere in the game. Prototype has the achievement for killing 53,596 zombies, yeh it's one over but there's obviously a connection. I've seen it in another game aswell, but I can't remember what one. So can anyone tell me whats so special about it?
It originally started in Dead Rising as a representation of the whole population of Willamette before the zombie outbreak which was 53,594. Prototype and Left 4 Dead are playing off of that with their own infection kills which is very close to the Dead Rising one of course.
The other game is you're thinking of is Dead Rising. The significance of the number is simply an allusion to each game. In Dead Rising the number was 53,594, the population of the town in the game. In Left 4 Dead the number was 53,595 and in Prototype it was 53,596. The game developers are alluding to each others' games by adding one, possibly symbolizing that one game is better than the other game.
