    UPDATES:

In V1 the middle section of the map was lower than the side sections -it has now been elevated. I also added new cover onto it.
In V1, players could jump on top of the buildings, which ruined game play although it rarely happened. This has now been fixed.
Weapon timers have been adjusted, frag grenades have been added to the map and some spawns have been moved to improve the flow of games.

    DESCRIPTION:

MLG Catiouz V2 is a symmetrical map built in Sandbox´s Skybubble.
The layout is simple without much cover, except in the buildings. So stepping out means that you need to be alert and ready to pull the trigger quickly. A slacking team will most definitely become victims of spawn killing in CTF games.
Somehow, Team Slayer often turn into open standoffs, causing the score to be close throughout the game until one team achieves map control. With that said, being at each others throats is crucial, all the time!

    MAP INFORMATION:

    Gametypes:
MLG Team Slayer 7 and MLG CTF NAR 7 (2-8 players).
Weapons: BR X4 (10 sec), Mauler X2 (120 sec, drop spawn), Rocket (180 sec, 1 clip, drop spawn), Frag Grenade X4 (20 sec), Plasma Grenade X4 (20 sec).

Please could you add some more map shots instead of more action shots please :)

What and odd yet satisfyingly cool map layout ;p
Map post is very well presented, kudos.

Weapon layout looks fine for a 2 v 2, 3 v 3. But lacks for 4 v 4. I dont know what you map supports as you didnt post that but im taking it for granted that it is a 4 v 4 map, in which case I would recommend adding a carbine at the bottom of the map (Bottom mid area on that layout screenshot). Also i would recommend adding some more BR clips around the map because it looks to lack clips expect from 2.

From the screenshots, it looks like you can jump on top of the 4 enclosed parts near the middle by jumping on the barriers.

    4/5 weldone ;p

A very nice looking map I must say. I love your action shots, but as said before it would be nice to get a few more map shots from a few new angles. I don't really know what I'd change yet as I've only done a flyby in forge, and have yet to actually run a game on it.

As I said in your other thread I'd be more than happy to run customs on this as well as your other map if you want to get some more player feedback on it.

Thanks for the feedback! More layout pictures will be up soon. My GF is watching one of her stupid love movies again so I have no "right" to grab the TV at the moment, haha!

I uploaded a new MAP LAYOUT-picture, showing all four BRs and two Maulers. I will try to place two Carbines somewhere on the map too, but I've reached the object limit so I might not be able to delete something. I'll give it a try though!

Also, the horizontal Obelisks placed on top of the four rooms, as well as the bases, prevent people from getting up there and ruining the game. Although, you can grenade jump up the bases from the front but anyone standing there, messing around during a game, will most definitely get taken down! : )

SMGstrings, I'll send you a friend request as soon as I'm online! : )

Those obelisks definantly help stop some jumpers, but the top of the bases are still easily accessible by grenade jump. Fix that and It should be good.

The middle is way too open! there is no cover for anyone to get behind! had some cover in the middle and this will be good! 3/5

very well forged just not a huge fan of these maps. Your map is clean, clearly took alot of time, its just couldnt that have been better spent making something a little more original?

A little more original like how? As stated in the introduction, I'm quite new to interlocking and merging. Haven't even tried ghost merging yet. Also, I like MLG maps to have simple layouts. Too complex maps disturb the gameplay. Slows it down too much.

Blaski45, yeah, the middle section is the one part I'm having trouble with. Realized that it being so open would cause people to stay away from it, still, I'm not sure how to close it in since I've reached the object limit. Taking away the columns is easy, but replacing those with something that both will prevent people from falling and providing more cover is another potato.
Can't really take away more spawns either, because there's already almost too few of them. Will look into it further though!

You can reverse the elevation of the middle, make it a hill rather than a pit if you can see what I'm saying. That would block the line of site from base to base and it wouldn't cost you 1 item.

I like what you've done with only a few problems I can see from the get go:

First off, IMHO I'm not a big fan of the slits or such enterances into bases. This bottlenecks gameplay and promotes camping. You don't want your base to be a defensive stronghold...at the same time, you don't want it so open that it's useless as a support or fallback measure.

As people have mentioned, the middle is a straight line of sight all the way to the other base, which makes it practically impossible to use effectively. I'd probably flip it as mentioned above.

I do, however, love your concepts in making a new and original layout that looks pretty decent, simple and effective. I'd like to see it in action if you're playing...send me a message on XBL if you are sometime.

That's it! Can't believe I didn't think about that! Been staring at the damn thing for so long.. Gotta slap myself for that, haha!

Insane54, you have to see the slits in action on this one! They actually function really well. People firing through them are actually quite easy targets, since all you can see in the slit is your enemy -you don't even have to move your aim!

Now, time for forging! "Bottom Mid", will now BE "Top Mid"!
