YouTube- Keith Olbermann Neuters Bill O'Reilly Fox News isn't necessarily biased. The shows/segments/personalities that they promote, however, is very much biased.
Some may say that PBS leans left, especially on the radio.....which it does. Taking a position on a story when reporting it is unavoidable really. Unless you are going to make a complete broadcast without using one adjective. Fox tilts the scale so much more than any other network though. That's why they are so polarizing. I think they chose "Fair and Balanced" not as a term to categorize their own broadcasts, but as a counterweight to what seems like in their eyes, a liberal dominated press. So 6 slightly left leaning stations + 1 massively over the cliff right leaning station = a "Fair and Balanced" media environment.
While this is true, it doesn't make it a horrible channel. Like you said, "some" bias is unavoidable whenever someone is presenting, so (in my opinion) it is about as close as you can get with televised media.
Ugh, I hate that logic. If what you said was true and that is what Fox means when they say that phrase, then it seems Fox is doing the "right" thing being very conservative. It makes it seem like Fox is forced to do this because of the other media stations. I do have a question about the topic that was brought up before about the media covering Obama more than McCain: Since the news is a business, wouldn't there be some truth to the media covering Obama more because he was the more interesting candidate which will provide more viewers? I realize all media is biased on some level, but I dislike Fox mainly because of its shoddy, sometimes false, and underhanded ways of presenting and discussing news. Things like posing insane statements as questions (Is Obama a Terrorist? Is Obama a Muslim? Is Obama a citizen? Remember the terrorist fist-jab? Death Panels? Grandma gonna die?), to giving air time to Beck, to the blatant false advertising of news, these are the reasons I don't like Fox news.
